Whatever Happened To Whatsername?, chapter 8

When I arrived home I was sweaty and breathless, that was the scariest thing I had ever been through. I had some food and went straight to bed. The next morning I woke up to discover my mother was missing, I walked to the front door to find scratch marks all over it, and a black line from my mothers shoes. I went and had some breakfast, she had just probably gone out, tried to stop the door from slamming, and dragged her feet. I walked into the lounge room to watch some TV, when I heard something, it sounded like that music from those horror movies, CHING CHING CHING CHING, it was getting louder and louder. I got creeped out and went upstairs to the bathroom and locked myself in. About half an hour later the music stopped, I unlocked the door and crept downstairs, nothing was different and nobody had come in, I looked down at the coffee table, and saw that my old CD player had been left on, and it was playing that music. How stupid and paranoid of me, that I was so scared just of a little music.

I walked back out to the kitchen and saw a note on the fridge, it said "To Emily, have gone shopping, will be back later, repairman will be around to fix the scratches on the door. Love you, mum." This made me feel a lot better, so I decided to play some music, I pulled out my CD case, and picked out my favourite album, Warning: by Green Day. I put the CD into the CD player and turned it up real loud and started dancing, don't ask me why I did it, but I did. I looked out the window and saw the neighbours looking out their window with binoculars, so I lifted up my middle finger and shoved it up at them, then I lifted up my skirt and mooned them, that'll teach them about privacy.

I heard the doorbell ring, so I turned the music down and opened the door. It was the man who had kidnapped me from Sydney. He stuffed a sack over my head, but then I raised my foot and kicked him where it hurts.
"Ahhhh... . You little fuckhead! I'm going to get you!" he screeched,
"Go away!" I screamed, and ran away through the front gate. I ran clear into my mother and knocked everything out of her hands.
"What are you running from?" she asked,
"The-the-the that man! The one who-who abducted me!" I stuttered
"But there's nobody there!" she said, and I turned around, it was true there was nobody there, there were no markings where he had fell in the dirt or anything.
"I think you need to see the psychologist again," she said,
"Bu-bu-but, he was really there!" I said,
"C'mon honey, I'll take you in straight away" she said, and picked up the groceries, ran them inside and came back out and we both got in the car.

When we got to the clinic, I could go in straight away, my mother waited outside while I went inside and saw the psychologist.
"So your mother says that you keep seeing this man that abducted you," the psychologist said,
"Yes, he tried to do it again" I said,
"What are those marks all over your wrists?" asked the psychologist,
"Um-um-um, nothing I just hurt myself, making a, making a, making a milkshake, my wrist got cut on the blade thingy." I said,
"Hmmm... . Emily, did you do that yourself?" asked the psychologist,
"No, it was the blender, I swear!" I said. So the session went on for a while, and when it finished I exited the room, to discover my mother wasn't in the waiting room. I went over to the secretary and asked her if she had seen where my mother had gone.
"She said she had to home to put the groceries away" said the secretary.
"Ok then, I'll walk home then" I said and began to walk home. When I arrived at home, I discovered a marking in what looked like blood on the front door, 'it is me' is what it read. I opened the door and walked inside, to find my mum lying at the bottom of the stairs.
