Why Can't All Bad Days Turn Out Like This?, chapter 4
I laid in bed until 11:30 enjoying knowing that I didn't have to get up and go to work. After I got up I called Lanna to see if we were going to hang out before the concert. She told me that she just had to make a few stops and she would
be right over.
While I was waiting for her to get there, I decided to take my dog for a walk outside. When I opened the door, I found an envelope laying in front of the door. I opened it and found 2 passes to get backstage after the concert. I looked around wondering where it had come from. "Did THEY leave it here?" I asked myself.
I could see Lanna coming down the road, and so I called my dog back inside. When Lanna pulled in my driveway, I met her at the car and told her what happened. She was as shocked as I was.
"There's no way they could have just left them here during the night!" she said.
"I know!" I replied.
After a few moments of pondering on it we decided to drop the subject until we saw them again to ask them. It was 1:00 and we were starting to get hungry, so I called our friend that worked at the pizza place down the street and asked him if he would make us a pizza and deliver it. He said sure he would, and he let us use his discount. With the discount, we got the pizza almost for free.
"Man, we are getting off pretty easy! I mean free tickets to the concert, free backstage passes, free guitars, and now a pizza for next to nothing. And to think, yesterday was a bad day to start with." I said.
"Seriously. Why can't all bad days turn out like this?"
"I know! Oh well enjoy what you have while you have it I guess."
The sound of the doorbell broke the conversation off. I got up to get the door.
"It's probably Kolton with the pizza." I said. When I opened the door I almost screamed. It wasn't Kolton at all, in fact it was the last person I expected to see.
"Tre!" I said with a shocking tone. Lanna heard me and was there within seconds.
"Yup, its me in the flesh. I heard you guys needed a drummer for your band."
"Uhhh yeah we do need a drummer... but we never expected you to get us one." I said somewhat still in shock.
"Get you one, heck I am gonna be your drummer for the next few hours."
"WHAT! Are you serious? That would be so awesome!" Lanna said.
"Yup, so I can't stay all day... lets hear some of your songs and see what I can come up with." he said
"Well like we were telling Billie and Mike, our guitars aren't the highest quality, so it won't produce as great of a sound as you're used to."
"No prob! Billie and Mike will have you fixed up soon anyway."
We all headed down to the basement and me and Lanna showed him some of the songs we had written, and he came up with some pretty cool sounding drum beats to go with it. After a while we began playing some of the Green Day songs we had learned and he played along with us. We all talked and played, and Tre gave us some tips on our playing. This went on until about 5:00 when Tre said he had to leave and go meet the guys and practice. We said good bye and showed him out. As he was leaving we found the pizza we ordered on the steps.
"I guess we didn't hear the doorbell ring over the music!" I said.
After Tre had left, Lanna and I started getting ready. We decided to stop and get some coffee on our way to the concert, so we went ahead and left. On our way out the door...
