Life of Fame and Love, chapter 1
It was a hot sunny day outside; Billie Joe Armstrong decided to stay inside and strum notes on his guitar, his best friend Mike came in from outside
"Hey Billie, why don't you come outside and practise in the garage?" he suggested, Billie Joe shrugged.
"Yeah sure whatever,"
They both walked outside and set up the instruments in the garage, a car pulled up outside, it was Tre, Billie and Mike's other friend, he parked up the car and he jumped out.
"Hey guys," Tre greeted, Billie Joe lifted up his head and smiled at him, Tre walked into the garage and met up with friends.
Billie Joe, Mike and Tre are in a band called green day, Billie Joe Armstrong is the guitarist and lead vocals, Mike Dirnt is the bassist and backing vocals and Tre Cool plays the drums for the band.
They already had two albums out called '1039smoothed out slappy hours' and 'kerplunk' they were out on the record label 'lookout'.
Mike turned to Billie
"Hey what was that note you were playing earlier Billie?" he asked curiously.
"Awe it's just a dumb song I wrote, its shit," replied Billie lighting up a cigarette. Mike looked at Billie Joe in disbelief
"Are you kidding! It sounded great, play it and sing it now," he ordered his band mate. Billie Joe sighed and got up
"It looks like I'm gonna have to," he picked up his guitar and began strumming notes then lyrics came pouring out of his mouth
"Do you have the time to listen to me whine, about nothing and everything all at once, I am one of those melodramatic fools, neurotic to the bone no doubt about it," he began, he strummed faster and faster on the guitar strings and opened his mouth to sing again
"Sometimes I give myself the creeps, sometimes my mind plays tricks on me, it all keeps adding up, I think I'm cracking up, I am I just paranoid or I'm just stoned," Mike plugged in his bass and played some notes that seemed to go with Billie Joe's singing and guitar playing, Billie looked at Mike and Mike nodded his head signalling for him to carry on, Tre got on his drums and started a beat, it all seemed to go together so Billie began singing the next verse of his lyrics " I went to a shrink to analyse my dreams she says its lack of sex that's bringing me down, I went to a whore he said my life's a bore so quit my whining cause its bringing her down,"
Green Day had made yet another song.
"See Billie I told you it would work out," assured Mike, Billie smiled at Mike and looked across the street to see a beautiful girl clapping for the three 20yr olds, his heart almost skipped a beat,
"Thanks!!" screamed Tre, Mike told her to come over to the garage, Billie Joe recognised her from a gig in 1990 it was 1994 now, him and the girl had a lot of feelings for each other, Billie had never forgotten about her and obviously she hadn't forgotten about him either, it was Adrienne Nesser 'the girl that was '2000 light years away'.
"Hey Adie," Mike greeted her kindly, she gave him a friendly hug, she then moved onto Tre, she looked up at Billie and gave him a warm and loving hug which made him blush a little bit,
"That song sounded really great, you should put it on record," she assured,
"Thanks, I've got a few more, just need some working on that's all," he smiled not taking his eyes off her, Mike realized that the two of them needed to talk
" Err Bill, me and Tre are gonna go tell Rob about this new song," he informed, Tre looked at him funny
"Why?? Cant we go tomorrow!" he whined at him, Mike gave him a funny look back
"C'mon Tre, some people have to talk in private y'no," he hinted at Billie Joe and Adrienne, Tre bit his tongue "oo0ooh...ok lets go," Tre smiled quickly walking out the door as Mike followed
"Be back in like an hour," smiled Mike as he closed the door behind him.
Billie and Adrienne looked at each other not saying anything; Billie Joe decided to start talking first
"So how come you're in California? I thought you went back to Minnesota?" he asked, she smiled and went a little bit red in the cheeks as well,
"Well err the last time we saw each other you asked me to come down here for a couple of weeks so I did, you probably don't remember, urgh! I feel stupid," she explained hiding her face in her hands.
Billie took hold of both of her hands moving them away from her face,
"I do remember so don't feel stupid, I just thought that you didn't listen to me because I didn't mean much to you that's all," he admitted honestly, she gave him that loving stare that he adored, they both looked into each others eyes, her brown eyes became lost in his green ones, they moved closer towards each other and shared a short but longing kiss,
"I'll always care about you Billie, infact in the years I've known you, you've attracted me more and more to the fact that right now I think I've fell in love with you," Adrienne stroked his cheek and let out a little laugh
"I mean heck I broke off my engagement because I couldn't get you off my head,"
Billie let a smile out
"Awe, that's really fucking cool, and it's a good job that you broke off your engagement because here I am in love with you Adie, you're the only woman I think I can truly love," Adrienne stood up and sighed, she looked down at Billie Joe
"Its not gonna last Billie, I've got to go back to Minnesota in 1 week and 3 days," Billie got up and put his arms around her waist
"Well lets get married and we can live together here in Oakland California," a huge smile spread across Adrienne's face, she nodded her head, Billie dipped down to her and they shared a passionate kiss.
