Frank Edwin Wright the third... erm... Tre Cool opened his eyes. This bed was comfortable. He closed his eyes again, listening to the sounds around him, but something was wrong. The usual sound wasn't there. He couldn't hear Claudia yelling to him that he was late for some plain. He couldn't hear that Frankito was running outside his room to wake him up.
He was not home.
Tre sat quickly up in the bed, and looked around.
He was in a room with white walls and white floor. Everything in the room was white. The bed was the only thing in the room, except from himself. No. There was something more.
A video camera was placed in a cretin part of the room, so it was impossible to be invisible for the camera. Tre figured that it they who had put him there was watching and listening to him, so he decided to get their attention.
"Hello?" he said, not too loud.
Silence for a moment. But so...
"So, I see you're awake."
Tre didn't answer that question, because it was stupid, even for his brain.
"Were am I?"
No answer. The speaker was silent as the grave.
Instead Tre could hear someone outside the door, and some seconds later a little person entered the room. After him followed two huge guys, and they locked the door again.
"Who are you?"
The little boy was short, even shorter than Tre, with dark hair and blue eyes. He really reminded Tre of...
"I am Artemis Fowl."
He knew it! But, Mike had assured him that Artemis didn't exist!
The Irish boy moved closer and sat down at the bed.
"I guess you have heard of me?"
Tre nodded. Ofcourse he had, Mike had read the book for him one time he couldn't sleep.
"Do you know why you are here?"
"Of course I don't, fucker, you tell me!"
Artemis got a weird expression on his face. Clearly it wasn't often someone called him "fucker".
"OK, I will tell you."
Artemis cleared his throat.
"But, don't attack me when I tell you this. Ok. I have kidnapped you, and precise in this moment your ex-wife is calling your friend Billie Joe Armstrong to tell him that you have disappeared, and the only thing she found was this note. She will be met by a very scared Adrienne, who tells her that Billie is gone too. Then they will run to Mikes house, only to find that he has gone missing too."
"Were are they?"
Tre grabbed the little kid by the wrist, but the two giants pulled him away.
"oh, don't worry. They are safe. For so long."
"what d'you want with us?"
Artemis smiled a very cold smile.
He said one word.
"Gold."
