A Berkeley Story, chapter 11
August 28. Ten in the morning came around you woke up to find Sheila, still out somewhere. You joined Kelly for breakfast. "Tara's still asleep, right?" you asked.
"Duh," Kelly said. You laughed. You put a pot of coffee on, and sure enough, out came Tara.
"What a coincidence, Kelly. The coffee goes on, and Tara wakes up."
"Ha ha, very funny Andrea. At least I'm not the one who was -"
"Was what exactly?"
"Ah, nevermind. Just give me COFFEE!!" Then Erica burst in through the door.
"COFFEE?!"
"Damn it! I forgot to lock that!" you screamed. You all laughed.
After getting the food, and coffee of course, together, you placed it all on the table and sat down to eat. Just then you heard the front door slowly open, and without looking, you knew it was Sheila. You put your finger up to your lip to make everyone silent. Sheila would not be able to see you...the table was behind the wall of the kitchenette. "Good they're still sleeping," she whispered to herself. You motioned everyone to get up slowly, and to follow you. You stuck your head out in the doorway of the kitchen, to see Sheila, and to make sure she was turned around, which she was. You quickly tip-toed over behind Sheila with everyone else following your lead. Then you whispered,
"It's a good thing we're all SLEEPING!" She jumped. Everyone fell to the floor laughing.
"That wasn't funny!!!!!" Sheila said.
"Oh yes it was!" Erica yelled.
Everyone calmed down and then Tara asked, "So, where were you Sheila?"
"Um, I went out to run."
"Uh huh. Do people normally go running with a guy that comes to your dorm at four in the morning, who also kisses you?"
"You never know..." Laughter.
"Okay, how did you know?" Sheila asked.
"God, it wasn't that hard when there is a window right there," Kayla said. After getting Sheila to confess everything, you all went and got ready for the day. It was a typical day: some hanging out, going to the beach, running around town, and being with your beloved Joey. The week went on like this; more or less the same.
