A Berkeley Story, chapter 5
You all changed into your bikinis and and ran down the outer steps. You got to the boardwalk and glanced at the boy you thought you knew. He looked at you. You smiled a little, and he smiled back.
You caught up with your friends and said, "Hey, I'll be with you in a minute."
Someone asked 'Why? Where are you going?' but you didn't pay attention. You walked quickly over to the boy.
"Hi," you said.
"Hey," he said.
"My name's Andrea. Yours?"
"Joey. I like your name, Andrea."
"Aw, thanks." "You're welcome. You go to WBBS right? I think I saw you on the balcony." {that would be West Berekly Boarding School, if you forgot.}
"Yea. I was looking at the ocean." You lied.
"Yea, it's really nice."
"Yea. So do you go there?" You pointed to the school.
"Yea, actually. I'm in Ruby Wing. What are you in?"
"Ruby Wing too." "Really? That's cool."
"Yea. What room do you have?"
"23. You?" "17. 23's pretty near mine."
"Yea, cool." "Well, it's been great talking to you, but my friends are gonna wonder where I am."
"Yea, they might." Laughter
"So I guess I'll see you around."
"Yep. See ya."
"Bye bye." You began to walk away, but then Joey called out, "Hey Andrea!" You bit your lip and turned around flirtasiously, "Yea?"
"Wanna come over to my dorm tonight? We're having a party. Your friends can come."
"Yea, that'd be great."
"Okay, see you then."
"Kay." You smiled a cute little smile and turned back around and went over to your friends.
"OOh, less than two hours here and Andrea's already got herself a guy." Tara said joking.
"Usually that would be me." Laughter.
"Oh shutup. I just wanted to talk to him because he looked really familiar."
'Sure...' Everyone said.
"I did!" they didn't really believe you.
"Oh bite me!" Laughter.
You pushed Tara into the ocean and she got up quickly and ran after you.
Then you all laid on the beach and walked around, a normal-beach day. Then you asked, "Hey guys.. you know that guy that I was talking to right... Well he wants to know if ya'll wanna go to his dorm for a party they're having." 'Sure.' Most everyone said, but of course, Sheila said, "No! Boys have cooties!!!" Laughter.
"Too bad Sheila, majority rules.... and I don't think you wanna be left alone."
"Fine," she said.
"Ok, good. Now the party is at 7, so since it's 5 now, what do you say we go eat dinner and get ready?" Kelly asked.
"Yea that's good," you said.
"Yup let's go," Erica said.
You all went up to the dorm, got showered off, dressed and went to a little pizza store along the boardwalk.
Seven o'clock came around...
