Scattered, chapter 14
Next Day
"What time do you think we should go over there?" Tre asked Krystal.
"I don't know. But we can leave soon."
Just then the phone rang.
"I'll get it Tre said picking up the phone.
"Hello?"
"Hi Mike, what's up?"
"Nothing, its just you didn't call me last night and me and Ellie wanted to know how things went with Krystal and Billie.
"Oh it went fine."
"So he's alright?"
"Yah, I'm guessing so."
"Did she find out why he won't let us in?" Just then Krystal whispered in Tre's other ear.
"Don't tell him you're coming with me, cause then he'll want to come to." Tre just nodded his head.
"Krystal and I really didn't talk much last night about it."
"Why?"
"We had a fight instead, and she still mad so I'm going to talk to her."
"Ok? Bye."
"Bye." Tre hung up the phone.
"Oh great job now he's gonna think we're mad at each other now."
"Oh I'll just tell him we had passionate sex and made up."
"Whatever." Krystal kissed Tre. "Anyways are you ready to go now?"
"Yup."
Krystal drove the van down to Billie's when she got out, Tre just kinda sat there.
"What are you doing?"
"I don't know what to say to him maybe it's not a good idea for me to go in. I might say something that will upset him again."
"No you won't. Now let's go, you wanted to come, and I made sure you could. So you're coming in!" Krystal took Tre's hand and pulled him out of the van.
"Fine then you knock on the door." Tre stood behind Krystal.
"Fine." Krystal knocked on the door, and then moved over so Tre was no longer behind her.
Krystal and Tre stood there waiting for the door to open, Krystal was about to knock again, when the door open.
"Hello."
"Hi." Tre said.
"Do you guys wanna come in? Or do you wanna go out and do something?" Billie asked.
"Ahh I really don't care, it's up to you Tre. What do you wanna do?"
"I don't care."
"Ok then why don't you guys come in for a little then while go out and do something later."
"Ok." Tre followed Billie into the house and Krystal walked in closing the door behind her.
When Tre walked into the living room, he could see that Billie's guitar was leaned against the wall, and the amp was plugged in.
"So now that Dawna is gone are you ready to work on our new cd?" Tre said with out thinking.
"Ahh, yahh." Billie just looked at Tre, like he was an idiot.
"Try not to machine Dawna." Krystal whispered in Tre's ear.
Tre just shook his head, and asked if Billie had written any new song.
"No not really, they all turn out like crap."
"Oh?"
Hospital (May)
As weeks went by, May had pretty much had the hang of walking again, and really didn't need help for her touchy feely doctor. She was able to walk around with out a walker, or holding on to the side of the wall anymore. But when her legs got tried she would have to sit down or lean on the wall no matter how much she didn't want to.
"So May, are you ready to go outside for a walk today?" Her doctor asked.
"I don't know." May had kinda fallen depressed with out Billie, and having to always lay in a bed all day doing nothing but watch tv.
"Well if you still want to go, I've got you pare of jeans a t-shirt and some running shoes for you to wear. So no one would really know your staying in the hospital."
"What would it matter if they knew or not?" May said in a snotty way.
"I don't know. Some people don't like going out in the clothes they stay in, at the hospital. You don't have to wear it if you don't want to."
"I'll think about it." May said looking at the clothes.
"Ok, so does that mean you wanna go on a walk today?
"Yah sure, whatever."
"Well then I'll be back in ten minutes." The doctor left the room.
May got out of bed and grabbed the jeans, holding up to her legs to see if they would fit. Lifting her leg, May almost felt, but seen that they looked a bit to long, but she put them on anyways. Now normally these weren't the kind of jeans that May would wear but it was much better then what she was wearing. Now the shirt on the other hand looked a bit to small, and really didn't match the jeans, but again it was better then what she was wearing so she put on the shirt anyways. May was about done tying her shoes when the doctor knocked on the door.
"Hold on. I'll be right out." May yelled, and just as she finished tying the shoe she walked out of her room.
"So I guess the clothes fit?"
"Does it look like it?" May asked as if the doctor was stupid.
"Ya, I guess they do. So are you ready to go?"
"Yup."
"Alright, the rules first."
"What? Rules?"
"Yah, first off, you can not run away from me."
"Ok." May shook her head in disbelief.
"Second off, you have to tell me when you get tried."
"Ok, alright, is that the only rules?"
"No, there's one more. Whatever I say goes."
"How about no."
"How about yes."
"Ok, buddy I don't trust you to do everything you tell me to. So if I agree with it I'll do it but other wise I won't."
"Ok, ok. So are you ready to go now?"
"Ya."
While May, and her doctor walked by the security he said bye to them.
Once outside, May could hardly keep her eyes open from the sun being so bright and her eyes being use to the lighting in the hospital.
"Can we walk to the park?" May asked while holing her hand over her eyes trying to block the sun.
"Sure. Follow me."
"I know my way there. I'm not stupid."
"Ok, then lead the way."
May started to walk slowly but soon she was able to walk at normal past. Walking along the sidewalk made May feel like she was able to live again and it made her forget about having to go back to the hospital, and that she had left Billie. Till, her legs became hared to lift again, making her almost fall and making her grab for the doctors arm.
"Wow, are you ok?" The doctor grabbed May.
"Yah."
"Are you sure? We can head back to the hospital."
"No! I'm fine." May said letting go of her doctor's arm, and started to walk again.
"Alright."
The rest of the walk to the park was abet shaky, May had to stop about two times on the way there. But once at the park she lied down on the grass and just looked up into the sky, like she did with Billie the night it snowed out. May laid there for a long time not even saying anything, she really didn't even realized that anyone was around her till the doctor said it was getting time that they head back to the hospital. The doctor helped her up and they went on their way. Once back in the hospital, May put on her other clothes on and lied in bed watching the sunset.
Back At Billie's (Billie, Tre, Krystal.)
Billie, Tre, and Krystal decided to stay in, but instead of staying inside the house the whole time they went and sat on Billie's porch.
"Look at the sunset." Krystal looked up at the sky, before sitting on Tre's lap.
"Yes its pretty nice." Tre rapped his arms around Krystal.
Billie just looked at them and wished that he had someone to hold, but he didn't say anything.
"What do you think Billie?" Krystal asked.
"It's nothing new. I've seen it before." Billie took a drink from his beer bottle. While looking up at the array of colors in the sky.
"Hey, Billie you think the next time me and Krystal come over, Mike and Ellie can tag along?" Tre asked.
"Ah."
"Come on there worried about you."
Billie took another drink from his beer before answering. "Ah, sure."
"That's great, I'll tell them."
"Ok."
"Anyways buddy, thanks for having us. I'm glad to see your ok. But I think its time for me a Krystal to be heading home."
"Alright, well it's been nice having you hear." Krystal and Tre got up and Billie walked them to the front door, and waved good bye as they left.
"What time do you think we should go over there?" Tre asked Krystal.
"I don't know. But we can leave soon."
Just then the phone rang.
"I'll get it Tre said picking up the phone.
