I Wish I Could Tell You..., chapter 7
"Jessica?" Asked Billie.
"Yeah, it's me." Jessica answered.
"Well, what the fuck do you want?" Billie asked as he stepped outside the room and into the hall, for privacy.
"I just wanted to apologize for writing that stuff on yours and Tré's lockers yesterday. That was just really stupid and mean, and I'm sorry. I wasn't thinking. I was just really mad at you at the time." Jessica explained.
"Well, I've gotten over that, 'cause people judge you, and you just got to fucking be the minority sometimes, you know? But I accept your apology. I kind of had a feeling you didn't really mean it, 'cause I just know you too well to think you did. " Said Billie as he paced back and forth in the upstairs hallway of Tré's house.
"Thanks for understanding Billie Joe." Jessica said with relief.
"So... are you still mad at me?" Billie asked.
"Well... no, I guess not. When I was walking home after I broke up with you, I was so mad at you, but at the same time I felt like I'd made a big mistake." Jessica said.
"Yeah, I know. It was confusing for me too. I was feeling all sad and sorry for myself, but then I felt guilty and felt as though I deserved it." Billie said.
"You didn't deserve that Billie Joe," said Jessica.
"Oh, c'mon Jess, we both know I did. For all the shit I did behind your back with Tré."
"Billie," Jessica sighed, "I still love you, you know that?" She said.
"Really?" Billie asked surprised.
"Yeah. It might sound weird, but I do." Jessica said.
"Okay, I see." Billie said.
"Yeah... So how are things with you and Tré?" Asked Jessica.
"Oh, things are great Jess." Billie answered.
"Good. Good for you. I'm glad you're happy." Jessica said with disappointment in her voice.
Billie suddenly felt guilty for what he did to Jessica. He didn't want it to seem like he was happier with Tré than he was with her, because he was equally as happy when he was with Jess, and when he was with Tré.
"Have you found someone?" Billie asked.
"Nope, not yet." Jessica sighed. "I'm still looking for someone as perfect as you." She added.
"What? I'm not perfect!" Billie said.
"You might not be perfect, but you are to me, and I miss you a lot, Billie." Jessica said.
"I know hun, me too." Billie said as he continued to pace.
"But we can't be together though, can we?" Asked Jessica.
"Maybe not right now, but one day, alright?" Billie said.
"I'm in love with you though, Billie." Jessica said.
"Jess, I don't want to repeat this whole thing again. If I start seeing you, what if Tré finds out? I don't want to have that guilt again, Jess." Billie said in a serious tone.
"Yeah, I know. It could easily happen again," said Jessica. There was pause in the conversation. "Why Tré, Billie? What's so special about him?" Jessica asked.
"I love him Jess. And he loves me back. We just seem to have this natural bond between us, and I've known him since like... forever. It just feels so right with us." Billie said.
"Oh, okay then." Jessica sighed.
"Yeah, well I'm going to go now, alright?" Billie said.
"Okay." said Jessica.
"And thanks for calling, Jess." Billie added.
"No problem, I couldn't go another day without talking to you."
Billie chuckled, "Alright, I'll see you at school then, okay?" He said.
"Okay. I love you Billie," said Jessica.
"Alright. Well um... bye Jess." Said Billie.
"Bye." Jessica said quietly.
Fuck, why didn't I tell her that I loved her too? I'm such an idiot. Billie thought as he turned off his cell, and walked back into Tré's bedroom.
"That was Jessica." Billie said, as he laid down beside Tré.
"Why did you have to leave the room to talk to her?" Tré asked suspiciously.
"Tre, don't you trust me?" Billie asked, looking into Tré's eyes.
"Yeah." Tré answered.
"Alright. Then you know I wouldn't do anything to hurt you, right?" Said Billie.
"Yeah, I know. I don't know why I get so nervous when you talk to her." Tré sighed.
"It's okay Tré. You know I love you." Billie said as he kissed Tré's neck.
"Of course I know." Said Tré.
"Let's get some sleep now, okay?" Billie said.
"Alright." Tré said as he reached up to turn off the lamp on the bedside table.
In the morning, Tré and Billie woke up a bit late. Billie remembered that he had to go home before school, but he didn't care. He and Tré got ready, which meant pulling on their shoes and lugging their backpacks over their shoulders, and then they left and started walking the short distance to school.
Tré had to leave school early that day for an appointment, so after school, Billie Joe began to walk home by himself. He thought about waiting for Mike, but then again, that would take too long, and Billie was impatient. As Billie walked, someone called his name.
"Billie Joe! Wait up!" Jessica yelled to him.
Billie stopped and waited for Jess to catch up to him.
"Hey Jess, what's up?" Billie asked as they both started walking down the sidewalk again.
"I just wanted to ask you if you wanted to come over today." Jessica said as she tried to catch her breath.
"You mean like right now?" Billie asked.
"Well, yeah, if you can." Said Jessica.
"Well I can, but can I ask why?" Billie said.
"I just - I have to talk to you," said Jessica.
"Okay, I'm always here." Billie smiled.
When they got to Jessica's house, she led Billie upstairs to her bedroom.
"Wait here, I'll be right back." Jessica said to Billie.
"'Okay." Billie said.
Billie Joe sat down on Jessica's bed, deep in thought. It was so weird for Jessica to all of a sudden want to be with him. He loved Tré to bits, and he would never want to hurt him by messing around with Jessica. But he knew that deep down he wanted Jessica. Everything about her was beautiful; her personality, her deep blue eyes like Tré, and her flowing soft brown hair. Billie Joe felt so guilty knowing that he was thinking about Jessica that way, when he was so deeply in love with Tré. And that's where the confusion started... again. And when Jessica walked back into the room with nothing but her g-string panties on, there was even more confusion for Billie Joe...
"Yeah, it's me." Jessica answered.
"Well, what the fuck do you want?" Billie asked as he stepped outside the room and into the hall, for privacy.
