It's Something Unpredictable...But In The End There's Right, chapter 4
Billie and Mike stood in front of Tre, both of them trying to catch their breaths for they just ran through the hospital and swore whilst they waited impatiently for the elevator to arrive. Then, they went into the wrong room and now finally they were here. "Oh, Tre. You are okay," Billie said, letting out a sigh of relief.
"Hey, calm down guys. I'm better than ever. In fact, I feel awesome!" Tre exclaimed, looking delightful. "Erm... Tre. You do realize that you've been in a coma for quite some time, right?" Mike said and sat on the white plastic chair. "Coma?! What?! I was in a coma?! I thought I only slept for a while," Tre said , confused now. "Yes, Tre. You were in a coma for three months," Billie told him and mimicked Mike's action as he sat next to him. "Shit! This is fucking unbelievable! I was only dreaming about that day, you know Billie, where I wanted to play with Joey but you wouldn't let me to. Then, later on I went to watch Saturday Night Live and after the show I was going home when... when... the car break wasn't working and... and... "
"It's okay, Tre. You don't have to explain," Mike stopped him before he got into a shock or something worse but he was amazed by the short story. "So, this is a set-up. Someone must have fooled around with Tre's car but who?"
"Where's Lisea?" Billie asked, trying to shift their focus from the topic. "Oh, she went to the bathroom," Tre said. "So, what happened in this three months when I was asleep?"
"Erm... nothing really. I wrote two songs and one more with Mike today, but we haven't record it yet as we need our drummer," Billie said, exaggerating the word drummer more than he intended to. He couldn't tell about the threats yet. He did not want to frighten his friend after a coma.
So, the trio sat there and chatted happily until seven o'clock in the morning when a nurse came in to tell Billie and Mike to leave. Without hesitation, they walked out of the room and went back home. On the way, they stopped at a café as Mike wanted to get some coffee and doughnuts.
"You just need to get some caffeine every morning, don't you Mike?" Billie asked as they got back into the car. "What do you mean?" Mike said, pretending to be offended. "What do you mean, what I meant?" Billie retorted back. "You just downed like five cups at the hospital and then three cups just now."
"Okay, fine. So, I love coffee It's not like its illegal or something," Mike said. "Well, practically no, but caffeine is a type of drug," Billie attacked and cocked his eyebrows as he drove out of the café's parking lot. "Oh, just shut up, Beej. It's not like you never did pots," Mike accused. Billie snorted and turned on the radio. They stayed in silence on the way home, but as Billie parked the BMW in the garage, he realized something. "Mike? Tre said Lisea was in the bathroom, but she never returned," Billie said. "Oh, yeah. Actually, I completely forget about that. She most probably went back home or something."
"You know what Mike, I think you are right." Billie got out of the car and unlocked the wooden door that led into his cozy house. "I guess the ladies are still asleep," Mike said and closed the door behind him and went back to the guest room. Billie sneaked into his bedroom. He took off the shirt and trousers, slipped into something more comfortable. He lied on the bed next to Adrienne, making sure that he did not wake her or Joey. He closed his eyes and too in a deep breath. He then slowly drifted off into a deep and dreamless sleep.
"Shh... You don't want to wake daddy now, do you?" a voice in the distant said. Billie stirred, groaned and sat up. He opened his eyes to meet the bright sunshine shone right into his eyes. He let out another groan and rubbed his stinging eyes with his right hand. "I'm sorry honey, I don't mean to wake you, it's just Joey's snack time," Adrienne explained. "No, it's fine. I understand. What time is it?" Billie asked and got out of bed. He stretched his muscles and yawned. "It's around ten something," Adrienne replied and put Joey on their messy bed.
"Shit! I was supposed to go and find Taz today. Oh, great!" He scurried off into the bathroom and closed the door behind him. Adrienne sighed and shook her head. She sat beside Joey and gazed at the baby longingly. After a while, Adrienne heard a series of swearing originated from the bathroom and wondered what Billie did now. Obviously, a minute later, Billie came out flustered with a towel hanging around his waist. He padded towards the closet and took out a pair of old, baggy trousers, a t-shirt and a pair of boxers. He went into the bathroom again, and minutes later he emerged from the room. He walked towards Adrienne and Joey and kissed his wife and child in one swift motion. "Sorry, about that," he said, apologetically and pulled his wife up. His arms wrapped around her waist. He looked at her and gave her a long and passionate kiss.
"What was that for, Mr. Armstrong?" she asked, still dazed from her husband's fiery kiss. "Just to say that I love you," he replied and added, "Mrs. Armstrong."
Surely, she chuckled at that last remark. "Well, I love you too." She moved closer and brushed her lips against his, then gently parted from him, which caused him to whine softly. "Is that all?" he asked in a child's voice and hugged her closer. "Billie, Joey's here," she whispered and tried to free herself but failed. "We can go into another room or the toilet," he suggested in a seductive tone. She shook her head in a no-no manner. "I thought you have something important to do?"
"Aww... we'll be quick," he challenged. She shook her head again, her mind set. He gave her his famous puppy eyes. "Oh no mister. Don't even try," she warned. He sighed and let go of his wife, then walked out of the room without another word.
She returned to Joey. Not that she doesn't want to; it was just not the right time. She pitied him, he had waited for a long time, but she just couldn't.
