Where Will We All Go When It's Too Late, chapter 1
"Andrea..." Kelsey sighed.
"Huh?"
"Quit drifting off."
"Sorry but I can't. It's really, really hard."
"Why?"
"I just want something better in my life. It's just.. I'm always bored. Nothing ever happens to me."
"Well that's how most people live their lives, so you're just gonna have to get over it."
"Yea I know..." you sighed. You went down to the kitchen to get something to drink.
"It's just... God I hate this so much."
"Geez, just get over it. Face it, you're doomed like me to live a life of bordem and a Green Day obsession," she laughed.
"Yeah, well... hold on, other line."
"'Kay."
"Hello?" you asked.
"Hey, Andrea," Kayla said.
"Hey."
"What was that homework from Friday?"
"I don't know, something in the book."
"Oh, okay, do you know the page?"
"No... it was something like 138 though."
"Oh, okay. Thanks. Bye."
"Bye." You sighed in disgust and switched back to Kelsey.
"Who was it?" she asked.
"Kayla."
"Oh."
"Yeah, guess what she wanted."
"What?"
"All she called me for was to find out what the fucking homework was. GOD! I swear no one gets me except you!"
"Wow. Hey, you know I'll always be there for ya, right?"
"Yeah... Thanks."
"You okay?"
Just then, the doorbell rang. "Yeah, I'm fine," you said while walking over to the door. "Someone's at the door, hold..." you opened it, "on a minute." You held the phone to your shoulder as you looked at the guy standing on your porch.
"Can I help you?" you asked in an irritated sounding voice.
"Yeah, do you have a phone I could use real quick...?" he said, taking off his sunglasses and hat, "Our bus broke down and there's no service around here."
"Yeah, sure, hold on a second."
"Okay."
You backed up from the door a couple of steps and said, "Hey Kelsey, I'm gonna have to-"
"What?"
"Wait a minute!" you yelled half into the phone, half into the living room. You spun around and looked at the guy. You stood there, staring at him with huge eyes. The phone was at your side. You brought it up and quietly said, "I'm gonna have to call you back."
"Andrea?!"
You hung up, not even noticing that she yelled your name. You put the phone back to your side. You just stood there like a complete moron. Finally you realized that he wanted the phone, so you slowly handed it to him.
"Oh good. Hey, thanks!"
"You're- you're- you're welcome."
He started to dial a number. Before he finished he looked up and said, "...and yeah... I'm Billie."
You still just stood there, but a smile came across your face. "So I'm guessing you've heard of me?"
"Uhhh yea!"
"Hmm, is that so?"
"Uh yeah..."
"Nice shirt ya got there." You didn't understand, so you had to actually look at the shirt you had on. It was your nicest Green Day shirt with the Kerplunk! flower.
"Oh yeah, thanks." He turned around and talked on the phone. Then all at once...
"Damn!" Billie screamed.
"What?"
"Little fuckers can't come get us!"
"Oh."
"Yeah. Oh sorry for the swearing there."
"No, it's okay... so what are you gonna do?"
"Huh?"
"Quit drifting off."
