Untitled, chapter 1
"I thought you said you were ready, Rach?" Lily said as she stood next to the bathroom door.
Rachael opened the door. "I am now."
She walked over to her bed and pulled on her converse black converse. Lily tapped her foot and crossed her arms. "Come on we're gonna be late!" Lily yelled.
Rachael stood up and sighed, "Okay, NOW I'm ready."
Lily grabbed her best friend's arm and pulled her out the door to go to the biggest gig in punk rock history: Milton Keynes.
Rachael and Lily hopped into Rachael's red Monte Carlo and put "American Idiot" in the CD player. Lily was singing along to the songs, while Rachael concentrated on driving.
Five minutes later Rachael parked the car in an extra parking lot that could only be used by people going to the show.
Rachael looked at Lily and said, "Ready to rock our fucking asses off?"
Lily laughed and said, "Hell yeah!" They got out of the car and headed to their spot.
Rachael sat down on the ground and lied back to look at the sky. "Lil, why aren't there any clouds in the sky?" Rachael asked.
"So that God can see his favorite band play again," Lily said. They laughed.
"Nice, Lil," Rachael said.
"Thank you, thank you, I'll be here all night," Lily said. She did a miniature bow because she was sitting down.
As the arena filled up, Lily and Rachael stood up and grabbed a hold of the safety rails by the stage. The arena was full when Rachael and Lily looked back there. Fog slowly drifted onto the stage and Green Day came out, like they were running away from the cops.
Tre smiled at the crowd and raised his arms up victoriously. Billie Joe and Mike got into position. When they started "American Idiot," Rachael and Lily screamed.
"Come on let's get into the mosh pit!" Lily screamed over the noise.
"What?" Rachael yelled back. "MOSH PIT!" Lily screamed.
"What?" Rachael screamed back.
Lily motioned to forget about it and started jumping up and down like a maniac.
When 'King for A Day' was being played, Billie Joe grabbed his King hat, and threw it into the crowd. It was going straight for the section that Rachael and Lily were hoping it would go to. The hat landed perfectly in Rachael's hands' just where it was supposed to land.
"Oh my god, Lily!" Rachael screamed, but it was too loud for Lily to hear what she was saying.
A few Billie Joe undid his tie and threw it out to the crowd. "You've been so good to me. You've been so good to me," he sang. Lily caught his tie and squealed like a little girl. Billie Joe broke into, "Shout."
When 'Wake Me Up When September Ends' started to play, Rachael handed Lily a lighter and took out her cell phone to hold the light up. Lily lighted the lighter and held that up.
"Summer has come and passed, the innocent can never last. Wake me up when September ends. Like my father's come to pass, seven years has gone so fast, wake me up when September ends." Rachael thought she could see him crying as he sang.
The songs were Minority and Boulevard of Broken dreams. After Boulevard of Broken Dreams was played, the band launched into Good Riddance. Well, they didn't exactly "launch" into it. It was more of a smooth transition.
"I can't believe this is the last song!" Rachael whined.
"Yeah, this is the last song," Lily yelled back, obviously hearing Rachael wrong.
"No, I can't believe it's the last song!" Rachael screamed back.
"Oh, gotcha!" Lily lied.
"Right," Rachael murmured.
"That was the best fucking couple of hours of my life!!!" Rachael screamed once they were in the arena halls.
"Hell, yeah, it rocked!!!!! Now to backstage!" Lily said, waving around their backstage passes.
"How do we get there?" Rachael wondered aloud.
The two wondered around for a while, before seeing a sign, 'Backstage passes'.
"There," Lily said, pointing at the sign.
Rachael fallowed close behind Lily as they got ready to meet their favorite band.
