Swing Set, chapter 16
**1 year later**
Zacky had proposed about 3 months ago. Today was the big day.
"Fuck I'm nervous." I told Jodi as I paced around the back of the church. My vail had almost ripped a couple times. I had been pacing for the past 15 minutes.
"Meggie?" I looked at Jodi. She had her beautiful red maid of hounor gown on. She had designed it herself. She had made my dress too.
"Meggie. You love Zacky right." I nodded.
"Then what else do you need." The back of my head was repeating 'Mike Mike' I opened my mouth and almost said Mike when my mother walked in.
"Honey. One more minute." She smiled at me and I smiled back. 'I'm gonna be Meghan Baker. ' Do I really want that.
The church got quiter and the 'Here comes the bride song' came on. The doors opened and I linked arms with my dad. Yes, my dad had come back for this. I slowly made my way down the path of rose pedals. People stared in awe at me. I could feel my silver tiara glimmering. I looked and saw Zacky with a huge smile on his face. I couldn't help but think this was a mistake.
I made it to the alter and took my place in front of the man who I was about to give my life to. The priest started up with the long speech.
"Zacky." I whispered.
"Yes, love." I smiled at him. I was so happy, but I knew that there was the man in this church who I should be with. The one I had been missing since I dumped him at Gilman. I looked and saw Mike with a tear running down his face. He was sitting in the front.
I turned back to Zacky. A tear fell down my face. I looked at our hands intertwined together.
"Zacky, I love you so much, but." I looked up at him.
"I think this is a mistake." I saw his face turn sad. A tear rolled down his face. I heard the priest say the line I was soppost to answer with 'I do'. The man looked at me.
"Meggie. I want you to be happy. Do what you feel is right." I looked at Zacky who had a smile on his tear staind face. He knew I was gonna leave him at the alter. But Zacky was such a great guy. He understood me and I thanked him for it.
"I'm sorry Zack." I gave him one last quick kiss on the lips and walked away from the alter.
I ran out of the church and stared at the clear blue sky. "Meg." I turned around and saw Mike. "I-" I cut him off by pressing my lips onto his. I pulled away. He smiled and kissed me.
"I love you Mike."
"I love you too." I looked at him and gave him a smile and kiss before we walked to his car.
And people say theres no such thing as a fairy tale...
