So This Is Love?, chapter 2
She was sitting on the floor, looking rather shocked but she looked up at him and managed to say "It's ok." He scrambled around picking up her books and loose papers and went to hand them to her, his mind not really clear.
Wow. he thought. She was really pretty. Not Barbie doll, perfect, plastic pretty, but unconventionally pretty. Her hair was a few inches past her shoulders, and strawberry blonde with the underneath done in black. She had on a denim mini skirt, with a pair of black knee length tights underneath, a black Ramones shirt, and flat black shoes, but what really struck him was her big, dark blue eyes. They were darkly lined with eyeliner, making them seem even bigger. She just looked up at him and stared at the books he tried to hand her before he caught on.
"Aw shit. I'm so sorry. I just..." He put down her books and held out his hand and pulled her up. "Are you ok?"
"Yea I'm ok. It was just a little surprising being knocked down flat on my ass is all." She said smiling. "Aren't you late?" She said.
"Shit yea." Billie said smacking his forehead. "Ok...well I...well yea. I'm so sorry again. I um...bye." he said, and he bolted down the hall toward his class. She picked up her books and put her bag back over her shoulder. She looked at the paper that indicated her 1st class, it was an A day, once more and walked a little ways down the hall until she found it. She took a deep breathe and pulled on the door handle. All at once at least 25 pairs of eyes were on her.
"Uh...I'm sorry I'm late it's just that--"
"You must be the new girl!." The teacher said beaming. She rummaged through some papers on her desk and handed her her new schedule.
"Class this is Rio. She just transferred here." she paused for a moment surveying the room. "Rio you can...you can sit next to Frank. Frank raise your hand." Rio looked around and saw a blonde guy with huge light blue eyes in the corner all alone. She made her way to the back of the room and sat down.
"Ms. Charles it's Tre, not Frank remember?" he said. The entire class started to laugh and then someone threw a ball of paper at him, but he ignored it.
"Hi!" he said cheerfully to Rio. "My real name is Frank, but people I like call me Tre, and people I don't can fuck off." He held out his hand and Rio nervously shook it before he continued talking. "Now you'll come to realize that 99% of the people at this school are fucking assholes and don't give a damn about you're feelings as you just saw demonstrated. You'll also soon find out that Ms. Charles doesn't think we are sophmores, but rather a bunch of fucking 5 year olds." Rio laughed because, in fact, she had noticed.
"I'm Rio. And I'm guessing we're in Chemistry?" Tre nodded.
"You're now my new lab partner. Which is good considering I didn't have a lab partner before. That is...if you don't mind."
"No not at all." she replied. She didn't much care what other people thought of him, Tre seemed like a really nice guy, and he was in almost all of her classes, with the exception of her electives. After chemistry he showed her to her english class, which was also his english class, and was really friendly. He gave her pointers on which teachers she could suck up to, and which teachers she couldn't, and which people were cool, and which people were assholes. When lunch came Rio prayed that he'd ask her to eat with him, since she didn't really know anyone else, but when it came time for them to part ways he just walked off leaving poor Rio all alone. She scanned the courtyard and saw everyone had their own little group already. She spotted a lone corner to her right and walked towards it. She sat down and began to eat her lunch, a peanut butter and jelly sandwitch, while on the verge of tears.
