So This Is Love?, chapter 3
Only five minutes passed by, but to Rio it seemed like forever, when all of a sudden she saw Tre walking toward her.
"Hey Rio!" He yelled. "Where'd ya go?"
"I er--"
"I mean gosh I'm walking and then I start talking to you and realize that you're not behind me." He said cutting her off.
"I'm sorry. I mean I kinda figured that you would have asked me to eat lunch with you." Tre shrugged and grabbed Rio's hand, the one with the sandwitch in it, and pulled her up pausing for a moment to take a bite of the sandwitch.
"Come on follow me." He said, as if she had a choice. He led her through two sets of doors and over to a large tree, where four people were sitting.
"Guys this is Rio." he said. Three of the four people looked up, while the other whom she couldnt see beacuse he had his head down, continued with whatever he was doing.
"Rio..." Tre began. "This is Mike." he said pointing to a guy with dark brown hair, frosted blonde. Mike smiled and gave a little wave. Then Tre pointed to the girl sitting on Mike's lap, with the dark hair and bright pink streaks. "This is Mike's girlfriend Austin. And that's Adrienne, but we all call her Adie." he said pointing to a girl with black hair that was almost in dreadlocks. "And that...that's Billie." For the first time since she'd arrived Billie looked up. He was the guy that had rammed into her this morning, she could tell by his huge emerald green eyes and his dark, messy hair. Gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous. Rio thought.
"Oh shit I know you!" Billie said, his eyes widening. He stood up and shook her hand. "God I'm so sorry..." he said, still holding onto her hand. I mean I was so late so--" The girl with the dreadlocks cut him off.
"Oh Billie baby, did I make you late again?" she said looking straight at Rio, who immediately let go of Billie's hand. Of COURSE they're together. she thought.
"Oh no it's ok. I wasn't paying attention either." Billie nodded and sat back down next to Adie. Tre also sat down and indicated that Rio should sit down too.
"So what classes do you have?" Mike's girlfriend Austin said. "Wait what are you?"
"Huh?"
"Well Mike and Billie are juniors. And Adrienne is a senior, and Tre and I are sophmores."
"Oh I'm a sophmore too. Tre and I are in all the same classes with the exception of my electives." Rio replied.
"Really? I have two classes with Tre tommarrow and neither of them are my electives so that means you're in some of my classes too. What do you have 5th period?"
"Photography in room 83."
"Really me too. Wow that's awesome. You can come with me when the bell rings." she said. For the remainder of lunch Austin, Tre, Mike and Billie all talked to Rio, asking her all about herself. Adrienne, however, said nothing. When the bell finally rang Rio said her goodbyes and walked off with Austin, who she had come to realize, was alot like she had been at her old school. Outgoing and so talkative that she could probably talk to a rock. They were halfway towards the door when Rio heard someone shout her name.
"Rio!" She turned around to see that it had been Billie. He was still standing at the tree, Adie waiting about 5 feet away looking annoyed. "Same place tomarrow morning ok? By this tree." He looked like he was about to say something more but Adie had walked up to him and grabbed him by the shirt. Seeing as she was quite a bit bigger then him he sort of stumbled.
"Ok." Rio yelled back before she turned and walked to class with Austin.
