The Green Bikini, chapter 1

"Are you sure thats a dog scratch?" I nodded and quickly tried to pull my arm away. Most of the cuts had faded but if you looked closee enough you could see that it was not a dog scratch. "I'm sure." My mom stared at me for a minute, trying to decide if I was lying or not. Her eyes seemed to look right through me. "Put lots of neosporin on it."
I walked up to my room in a daze. I tried to resist shivering. I hadn't meant to make that cut so deep. It was taking a long time to heal. If she would have pulled my sleeve up just a little bit more she would have seen the rest of the cuts.
Her almost finding them made me scared. As I closed the door to my room though, I started to feel mad. The hatred welled up inside of me, aimed at my mom. I took a pair of scissors out of bookbag. I looked closely at them for a minute. There were a few red stains on them that I couldn't wash off. I held out my arm and pressed down with the sharp edge. I quickly pulled them across my arm. In a minute there was blood everywhere. I watched the blood flow out for a minute before holding a tissue to it.
As I tried to stem the flow of blood I thought of what my friend, Kara, had said to me. She had found the same cut my mom had and she had said, "Try reading or listening to music instead of cutting." Tears came to my eyes. She would never understand. No one ever understands.
