Wicked Times, chapter 13
It's been about a year and a half since Mike tried to cheer me up. That night Brook had came over... I guess Billie Joe invited him. It was nice. I loved that night so much.
Billie had said he was going to start writing some more songs for another album. I was over whelmed. I didn't want to start that now. I mean Green Day was still on tour, without me. I still had to go to school. I got home schooled by Adie. She was once again being so nice to me. She was like another mother to me. I only had a few more months until I got to graduate. I was so thrilled. That meant no more school work for me. Yay!
Me and Brook got closer and closer to one another. We saw as much as we could of each other. I couldn't tell if I was just crushing or in real love.
That night I got the hugest surprise of my life. I was setting on the couch watching TV with Joey and Jakob. Adie was up stairs putting Elena to sleep. The door bell rang. I slowly got up. I looked back at the boys. They were way to into the cartoons they were watching, to find out that I was missing from the seat I was setting in. I opened the door to find Brook standing there. I looked up at him. He still had that spiked black hair. He was wearing a black band T-shirt. New, clean black Converse and dark blue jeans. He had in his studded nose ring and his newly pierced eye brow ring. He looked at me while smiling a little. I smiled back and coolly said "Hey Brook."
He was still smiling. I knew I looked a mess. My hair was in red streaked dreads, thanks to Adie. My light blue jeans were dirty from playing with the boys today. My shirt needed to be ironed. I had on no make up. I looked so bad. I didn't care though, oh well. I'd look better the next time I was with Brook. That was a promise to myself.
Brook asked me quietly "Can I talk to you outside privately?"
Adie had just came down stairs. I guess she heard part of the conversation because when I looked at her, she just nodded.
I smiled at him and said "Yes."
It was a cool autumn night. The moon was full and bright. The wind whipped my loose hair around my face. I held my arms up against my chest wondering what he wanted to say to me.
We stood there looking into each others eyes, wondering what secrets lye inside our minds.
Finally, after what seemed forever Brook said "Hey, Hun."
I broke contact, from eye gazing and asked "Why are you here?"
Brook took a few seconds to answer and asked "What do you think of us?"
I confusedly asked "What?"
He looked straight into my eyes for a moment. "Do you love me?"
I said with passion "Of course." I sensed a bit of confusion in my words.
Brook looked relived.
I asked "You?"
He kept looking at me. "I love you with all my heart, Alexis."
I smiled.
I asked "Why did you come here?"
He grinned from ear to ear. He got down on one knee and asked "Will you marry me Alexis?"
I was so shocked. I wanted to fall over, then part of me wanted to jump up and down with excitement.
I said "Oh my god Brook!" I then started to think about my life. I then stuttered "But... but... Brook. I... I... I'm still in school. I mean. I'm part of a band. A VERY famous band. Are you sure about this?"
I kept silently saying "Breathe girl, come on breathe!" to myself.
"I'm as sure as ever." His grin was wiped off of his face.
I'd never imagined this from Brook, especially tonight. I had no clue what to say. I could barley say one sentence without suttering.
