Wicked Times, chapter 21
Two weeks later my birthday came. I was mixed with emotions. I didn't know if I should be happy or not. I didn't want to celebrate my birthday, but Billie Joe, Mike, and Tre insisted I did celebrate. I knew they were the ones that wanted the party so I agreed with no questions asked.

Later that day I ran into Tre who smiled at me wickedly.
I was nervous. It was my birthday, he had told me that whole day that he had a surprise for me. I was afraid to ask what it was earlier today, but I just had to know what it was now, so I asked Tre, "What are you grinning about?"
Tre looked at me and smiled more. If he was this happy for me about my birthday, I'd hate to see how happy he is on his own birthday.
He said, "You'll have to wait to see!"
I groaned not wanting to wait to see what it was. I was so afraid it was something crazy. Tre started to walk away before I had the time to ask him to come back. Once I noticed he was walking away I yelled, "Hey! Come back here! Tre!!"
Tre just kept walking. I didn't feel like trying to catch up to him, so I stood there watching him walk away, leaving me all alone.
That day the whole house was so busy. I was pretty sure everyone forgot it was my birthday, which didn't matter to me. Everyone in the house would walk past me in such a rush. Even Joey and Jackob were running around all over the place, helping Adie with something or another. The only one that stayed still, at least didn't move as much as everyone one else in this crazy house was Elena.
I finally decided I was alone. That's all there was to it.

That night the living room was turned into a party room. I stood in the doorway of the kitchen looking out at Adie still rushing around trying to get things just right. There were tables against the kitchen wall, they were filled with food and red punch, of which, I think the guys spiked because it didn't taste like normal punch. There was music blaring out of the speakers that cost a lot. You could tell this by the quality of the sound coming out of them. I chose the music (Mostly Senses Fail, Finch, Brand New, Final Thought, and Green Day).
The cream colored walls were now covered in 'Happy Birthday' signs the kids made themselves, with the help of Tre.... I should have just said "signs the kids made themselves" and left out the Tre part because he acts like a child most of the time.
The lights above me were flashing different colors every second. The place looked so nice. After my brother had died everyone forgot about me. That meant no one in my family would have even tried to go to this much trouble to throw a party for me on my birthday.
I was so happy.
***
At about nine all of the guests started to pour in the living room, filling the large room.
Brook came earlier. He snuck up behind me. He viciously hugged me and then he kissed me sweetly.
I smiled and said, "Hey."
He replied back with, "Hey babe, happy nineteenth birthday!"
He turned me swiftly around, so I was facing him. He smiled at me, pulled a little wrapped box out of no where, and said, "Here."
I looked at him and said, "You didn't have to get me anything!"
He said, "You're right.... I didn't 'have' to. I 'had' to, your my fiancé now!"
I rolled my eyes.
Brook yelled at me excitedly, "Open it!"
I said, "Ok, but shouldn't I wait 'til the party?"
Brook said, "No silly.."
I carefully opened the red wrapping that said 'Happy B-day' on it.
I saw a white box, I opened it to see a...
