Wicked Times, chapter 24
About a month later, everyone was getting on with their lives or at least trying to.
Billie Joe was headed toward...well, he had no clue where he was headed. He just needed to get away from it all. Rain was pouring down all around his black BMW. As Billie was driving he turned up the radio's volume a bit.
The next song he heard was a Green Day one. It was one from their latest album that they had made with Alexis.
Billie Joe heard Alexis' soft, sweet voice gain more and more power as she sang. It brought back so many memories.
Billie Joe felt a few tears make their way from his eyes, onto his cheeks, dropping upon his black shirt. Billie Joe, still driving, let his heart brake into pieces. It had been forever since he cried.
Mike stood in his house, he stood there in the doorway of Alex's first bedroom. He looked out the window, onto the street, at the rainy, unwelcome day.
He had so much rage in him. He hated what had happen to Alexis. Mike still didn't know who was driving that car that night on Alexis' birthday, for that matter no one knew who was driving the car that night. Mike wanted to find the guy, hunt him down, and beat him into the cold, soft ground.
Mike's rage broke once he looked at a picture on the dresser. The picture was of the whole band.
Billie Joe was grinning, you couldn't tell if his grin was wicked or just cheeky. Tre made a funny face (he was trying to get Alexis to smile). Alexis finally smiled, that's when the picture was taken. Alexis' bright face glowed. Her hair was so beautiful. It was in dreads that fell all around her pretty heart shaped face. Alex's smile was one of a kind. Her teeth were so white, her smile was just so indescribable. Mike stood there next to Alexis in the picture. He was looking down on her.
Mike knew he should have been looking down on her the night of the party, making sure she was ok.
Tre sat in a chair in his living room. He looked at his drum kit, then looked away toward the walls. He felt so happy, yet so sad at the same time.
Brook sat on a nice, comfortable light green sofa. The walls all around him were cream colored, with the exception of the kitchen which was yellow. He sat in that apartment on the couch, which was now his, in Oakland, with Alexis lying there too. They were both quiet. Brook could hear the rain outside beating down on the roof top. Alexis had her head on Brook's lap. She was curled upon the couch.
Alexis whispered softly to Brook "I'm so sorry." She felt so bad about the coma, the stress, and the grieving that she had caused Brook. She also felt bad about Brook having to take his time out of his busy day to take her to therapy.
Brook looked down at Alexis and said "Don't say sorry. Don't ever say sorry."
Once a person had told Brook- 'loves means never having to say sorry.' Brook believed in this truly.
Brook softly, yet silently kissed Alexis on her forehead. Alex smiled at Brook. She loved Brook so much, because when she was around him, he made her feel with so many emotions, it was like a high, and without Brook there she knew she was never truly happy.
