Wicked Times, chapter 6
I got up around eight o'clock. I turned around slowly in my bed and opened my eyes. Sunlight was coming in from the open curtain. The light was blinding. I got up slowly and shut the curtain. Some light still seeped through the curtain and found a place to shine on the hard, wooden floor. I wondered over to the shower. I pulled off my clothes, turned on the water to the shower, and stepped in. I stood there, in the shower thinking, while the warm water ran over me.

I looked in the mirror at myself. I was wearing some faded blue jeans with a black, pink Senses Fail T-shirt. My studded belt showed in front, where it wasn't covered up by my shirt. I had brush my hair out and let it fall down over my shoulders. I threw on some black eyeliner so my dark brown eyes would look darker and pulled on my black converse. I ran downstairs. There I saw Adie. She sat there in the kitchen drinking coffee while sitting at the dining room table.
I asked, "Where's Elena?"
Adie said, "Asleep, finally. She's such a doll, but doesn't want her poor mother to go to sleep at night, just what Joey did when he was a baby."
I nodded at her and informed her, "I'm going to go get a bite to eat."
She asked, "Where at?"
I answered back with a small grin, "Probably some diner close by."
***
I was walking on the sidewalk, once again, toward a somewhat small diner that I had seen as I was driving around town one day. I knew I should have drove, but I didn't feel up to it. I just wanted to take a long walk. I shoved my hands into my jeans and felt some money. It was probably only ten bucks, but I'm sure that would buy me something to eat. The wind started to pick up. I could feel it brushing against my face, telling me that there was going to be a storm. I looked up at the clouds, in what seemed a matter of seconds, the clouds had turned from fluffy and white to a grey mass that covered the sun. I started to jog.
***
I entered the diner. I looked around and saw that it wasn't very crowded. I picked a seat off to the side and set on one of the bar stools while trying to figure out what to buy with the money I had. I figured I'd just have some black coffee and then leave. I set there waiting for the waitress to ask me what I wanted to eat. Then I looked over beside me and saw a guy dressed in some nice clothes, he had blonde hair and brown eyes. I stared at him, until he said "Hey!" cheerfully.
I just looked at him. Then with no emotion I faintly said "Hi."
He just looked me over. I could feel his eyes searching my body. He smirked at me. That's when I remembered. He was the guy who ran into me the night before. I wasn't going to wait any longer. I quickly got up.
As I went out the door I could feel the cold rain hitting my face and trying to soak through my clothes. I had wished I had brought some sort of jacket with me. I ran so the guy wouldn't catch up with me. I just had this awful feeling about him. As I was running I slammed into something. Actually it was a someone.
