Wicked Times, chapter 9

I asked "Who's we?"
Tre said "The band."
"Oh... um.. when?"
Tre looked at me with his glass blue eyes. He said, "Right now."
I croaked an "Ok."
Tre left me there in my bedroom all alone. I went into the bathroom. I let the clear water pour of the faucet. I wondered what the band wanted. When the water got warm, I grabbed a soft, white cloth and let water run over it. I washed my face with a washcloth and Clearasil face wash. I grabbed a dry cloth, wiped the water off my face, and looked at myself in the mirror. I looked like a little child. I looked afraid and defenseless without my eyeliner and mascara on. I didn't have time to re-apply it. I brushed out my hair and tied it back with a black ponytail holder.
I ran down stairs to see what Green Day wanted to talk about.
I could feel my heart pounding.
As I walked down the stairs I could hear Billie, Mike, and Tre talking.I heard bits and pieces of what they said:
"We should have never let her record with us."
"You know we should drop her, right? How could we tell people about this mistake?"
That's all I could stand. This is what I was afraid of. I couldn't stand around while I got my heart ripped out by Green Day. I slipped out the door and on my way out I slammed it shut. I ran. I didn't know where I was running, I didn't care. I needed to get away.
I heard Adie yell "Alexis!!"
I just keep running. Tears were blurring my vision. I didn't care. I keep running. They couldn't send me back home. They couldn't. I wouldn't let them. They'd have to catch me first. I ran until I fell into pieces on the blacktop road.

I opened my eyes slowly. I tried to move, but I ached all over.
I heard a sweet voice say "Don't move honey, you had quite a trip."
I closed my eyes again. I didn't have the energy to protest against the kind sounding voice.
