80 as in Adrienne Skye, chapter 3

After eating part of the leftover pizza for breakfast, Adie ran upstairs to her brother's room.As usual, Nate was still in bed. All you could see of him was his newly bleached blonde hair. Also what was the same as usual was his mother pulling on Nate's feet, trying as hard as she could to pull him out of bed.
"Nathan, I didn't give birth to you so you could live your life sleeping in that bed. Wake up. There's breakfast downstairs," his mother said, pulling harder.
After she had mentioned food Nate was up in a flash.
"Typical. I spend half an hour trying to pull him out of bed and he gets up at the first mention of food," sighed their mother.
"Well you know Nate. He loves three things in life. Beer, sleeping, and eating and since we don't have any beer he either sleeps or eats. He loves to eat more then sleep, so that's how you get him up," Adie laughed.
"Hey! There's no food down here. And what happened to my leftover pizza?" Nate yelled from the kitchen.
Her mother gave Adie a stern look as she asked, "Did you eat Nate's pizza? You know Brad would have made you something if you had asked."
"Well, mom, the thing is that Brad isn't my dad. Since he isn't I don't like to ask him for stuff or talk to him in general. Plus I just wanted to annoy Nate," Adie said, looking defiant.
Her mother only shook her head. She always wished that her daughter would get over the fact that Brad was her step-dad.
"You don't even know who your father was, so how do you know that he wasn't like Brad?"
"I know he isn't like Brad because if he was you would still be with him. Plus you're always saying how I look so much like him. And anyone who looks like me can't be like Brad," Adie said before running down the stairs to mess with her brother's mind.
"So my dear sister, where is my pizza?" Nate asked in his sweetly threatening voice.
"I guess you ate it while you were drunk last night. Man, you sure smell like you were drunk," Adie commented, moving a step closer to the kitchen door.
"You want to smell something that stinks?" Nate asked, grabbing a hold of his sister and forcing her face into his armpit.
"You don't know anything nasty until your brother forces you to smell his drunk armpits," Adie laughed, holding her nose.
"That's why I'm the master," Nate laughed, forgetting all about his eaten pizza.

-Adie's point of view-

That's how things were in my house. At least until mom brought up the unmentionable words.
WHICH COLLEGE ARE YOU GOING TO, NATE?
In our house we all knew that, fun as Nate was, he was a very smart cookie.
He had a million different girlfriends and was with a different one everyday. And seriously, if you were smart would you spend your time getting stone drunk? I think not.
So every time it was brought up they had their fight. No wait, I'm lying. They had more of what you would call a battle.
They would be at it for hours. If Nate was really mad that day they could fight even longer. Like days longer.
Now before I screw this up you should hear it. You might find it interesting.

-Back to the story-

"Dang mom, how many times do you have to ask? I'm only 21 and I told you I wanted to hold off on college," Nate was yelling.
Ever since early that morning they had been at it.
Adie was pretty used to it by now. Though it still sent small chills down her spine. Who wouldn't be afraid of the rage of a mother and an idiot. A deadly combination.
"I guess, since they won't be stopping for a while I'll go see Billie," Adie decided after she heard a bang coming from downstairs.

*Please note that this isn't Billie Joe. Though he will show up later*

Quietly she slinked to the door. Before she was out she heard her mother yell:
"You know, your just like your father. He didn't do anything in his early life either!"
"Well, at least dad knows who I am because I wrote him telling him whose kid I was. At least he had a right to know what happened that night!" Nate screamed right back.
"Well, he doesn't pay much attention to you, does he? That's the whole reason why I didn't tell Adie who her father is!" her mother yelled. She was almost crying now.
"Well, I'm not basing my decisions on who my father is. I'm doing it for me, not to be like my rock star dad," Nate said, his voice had become calmer now.
"I know that, but every time I look at you I see your father," she sighed softly.
"You should tell her you know. Every kid has the right to know who their father was. Even if it means losing a kid in the process," Nate said, sounding wiser then Adie had ever heard him.
Not wanting to break the peace between her brother and mother, Adie fled with many questions on her mind.
"I wonder what Nate ment by a 'rock star dad'," she wondered aloud.
