80 as in Adrienne Skye, chapter 7
*England*
After Billie hung up the phone he returned to the family bash he was having with Adrienne, the boys, and the rest of Green Day.
"So, Billie who was the chick on the phone?" Tre asked, as Billie sat down next to Adie.
"A great women by the name of Anna. Adie, it seems that your best friend has returned from the shadows," Billie laughed as he saw Jakob run over and trip, landing right on top of Mike.
"She called? Wow, I haven't heard from her in ages. How are she and Nate doing?" Adie asked happily, snuggling up close to Billie.
"That's the thing. It's not just her and Nate anymore. She's got a daughter named after you-"
"Named after me? Wow, I must have been pretty high on her list for her to name her daughter after me," Adie said excitedly.
"Of course you were high on her list. Apart from me, Billie, and Tre you were her only friend. And if she had a girl you were the only friend that she could have named her daughter after. Cuz she wouldn't name her after me, I'm no girl," Mike said.
"Are you sure about that?" Tre yelled from the kitchen.
"So that means that Anna must have gotten married. Who is the lucky guy?" Adie asked, her face shining.
"She wouldn't tell me his name. Said that it would bring up bad memories from the past. There's a problem though. Adrienne isn't his daughter, she's sixteen years old and she's only been married for a year," Billie sighed, he had a worried look on his face. He was wondering how Adie would take the news.
"Wow, a lot has happened since we last saw here. How long ago was that?" Adie asked, she had no idea what she was asking him to answer.
"16 years ago, Adie. She got pregnant right before she left," Billie mumbled, looking into Adie's eyes.
"She was still your girlfriend then. She had Nate with her and you guys were still going out at the time. How could she...Billie, are you saying what I think you're saying?" Adie looked worried, almost afraid of his answer.
"Yeah, babe I am saying that. She's Nate's full sister, but she is Jakob and Joey's half-sister. I didn't know until Anna just called. So I just found out too," Billie finished, looking at Adie's face. She had an expression caught between confusion and excitement.
"Annie had another baby and she's your daughter? So I've had a step-daughter for the past 16 years?" Adie cried.
"Dad, what's wrong with mom? Why is she crying?" Jakob asked. He got off of Mike and sat down on his father's lap.
"It's okay Jakob. I'm alright, it's just... I'm so happy. I'm not mad Billie," Adie sighed, looking up.
"I've always wanted a little girl and now I know that there's one in my life. Oh, Anna," she laughed, seeing that Billie's worried face had softened and become the gentle face she loved so much.
"That's great, Adie! Though Anna told me she's no little girl. She says that she's just like her rocker dad," Billie sighed, holding Adie close to him.
" I wouldn't want it any other way, Billie. Jakob, why don't you and Tre go find Joey? I'll be okay," she laughed.
"Alright! Come on Tre," Jakob said, jumping up and grabbing Tre's belt buckle. He started to drag him the direction of his room.
"So, Bill, when is she coming?" Mike asked after a quiet moment.
"I don't know really. Anna told me that Adie hasn't found out yet, but she will. With Nate around she'll know about it in no time," Billie smiled. He was at ease now that he knew Adie would accept his past ways as they came back to him in the form of his daughter.
"I'll drink to that!" Mike yelled happily.
They all raised their glasses in anticipation and happily awaited the day that Adie and Anna would join them.
They didn't know it at the time, but it wasn't that far off.
*Back in Adie's room in California*
Adie had been sitting in her room ever since Nate had come home. In that span of time Brad had come home and all was quiet for the time being.
She had spent this time staring around her room at her guitar and the poster of Green Day that she had come to know and love.
They seemed so different now that she knew one of them was a part of her.
"I can't believe this. Apparently this is why she never told me," she said in a self pitying kind of voice.
This was all she said for a time until the moon was high in the sky. Deciding tp try and loose her thoughts of the day, Adie climbed out the window to sit on the darkened roof.
She sat outside her window, quietly singing to herself for a time. It helped for a while, but once she sang the last word of the song all her thoughts came rushing back. Almost as if a rain cloud were over her that had just burst.
She gazed out across the landscape in front to her. For still being an early in the night the town was unusually quiet. Only a few lights popped on here and there.
In the shadows of one of the closer lamp posts stood a lone figure. It too was watching the moon in wonder. As the shadowy silhouette stepped into the light Adie saw that it was her mother.
"I guess she had a lot to think about," Adie mumbled bitterly under her breath.
She watched as her mother made her way to house, closing the door softly like she did when she had something on her mind.
Within moments of her arrival Adie heard her mother's soft knock on the door, asking to be invited in.
