Don't Leave Me., chapter 1

It was Monday morning. Five more days of hell until the weekend came again. Great - I don't think. I climbed out of bed and switched on my stereo. My Ramones CD was still in there. Teenage Lobotomy blared through the speakers. I didn't care that my brother Callum was in the other room, still sleeping. I couldn't care less whether I woke him or not.

I sang along softly to the lyrics, "DDT did a job for me, now I am a real sickie, guess I'll have to break the news, that I got no mind to lose... " And sure enough, Callum hit the wall loudly from his room and yelled,

"Hey, Mud whistle! Turn that shit off!"

I just shouted back, equally as loud, "Bite me, Cal!" and then turned the sound up louder, smirking to myself.

I went over to my closet and flicked through my clothes. A decided on a fake tartan mini skirt and a Clash tee with my black converse. I put on my eyeliner and brushed through my dyed black hair, eventually pulling it into a high ponytail.

I looked in the mirror and decided I looked pretty good, so I turned off my stereo, grabbed my black school bag full of patches and buttons with band names on and rushed downstairs. I took hold of my army jacket on the way out of the front door. I couldn't be bothered with breakfast.

When I got to school, I was greeted by the usual wave of teasings and insults. I ignored them and swiftly walked into school and up to my locker.

Then I went to homeroom and sat at my desk on my own. I was approached by Kelsey Taylors. She was smiling at me as usual.

"Hey, Gemma. I got an extra Oreo. Ya want it?" She asked, holding the Oreo out. Why she was talking to me, I do not know. She was popular and pretty but I was sure she was only pretending that she wanted to be friends with me so that she could humiliate me afterwards.

So I just glared at her as usual and said, "What did you do? Poison it?" Kelsey looked at me sadly, shrugged and walked back to her seat. I watched her go, then turned back towards the front of the classroom.

Miss. Clarts walked into the classroom, and the new kid she told us about followed. I looked at him properly and my heart missed a beat. I could only think one thing then: Wow.
