A Different Kind of Love, chapter 5
Zach snuggled more comfortably into Billie's arms at that, and rested his head lightly in the warm wrinkles of quilting. Billie Joe tried not to look at Zach, trying both to not make Zach feel uncomfortable, and to stop himself from crying all over him.
Billie crossed the street, still cradling Zach in his arms. He was pretty sure this was illegal, but he was also pretty sure no one else was going to give a toss less about what happened to the kid. There was barely anything to hold, and Billie felt that one more punch would break Zach in two.
Billie Joe reached the studio and heard silence. That obviously meant Mike and Tre had reached the
"I'm ignoring you" stage.
Billie looked down at Zach, who was fast asleep in his arms. Billie bit his lip and kicked on the door. Mike answered and his head dropped straight down to the coat. He swallowed and looked back up at Billie Joe, uncertain as to what this meant. Tre bounded over and curiously peered into the bundle.
"BJ man...thats not coffee..."
