Eliza barely slept that night. She was so furious; she just screamed and punched her pillow. She still loved Billie Joe so much, but on the other hand hated him for kissing Amy. Eliza stared at the ceiling and thought things over. She so badly wanted Billie Joe back, but didn't want to forgive him because he would only fuck up again. Then, in the height of her anger a thought crossed Eliza's mind... she wanted revenge.
The next day at breakfast Eliza stared into her cereal bowl and thought over her evil plan. She didn't want to do it... .but she was so angry she would do anything to pay Billie back. Anything.
She was pulled out of her daydreams by her mother's voice.
"Honey," she said, "I'm afraid I have some bad news. We are going to have to move to New York. I can't keep travelling back and forth and if we don't move I'll lose my job."
Eliza was shocked but happy. She was relieved she would never have to be near Billie Joe and Amy ever again, she would be far away in New York away from the painful memories and living reminders of what she lost here in Berkley.
"Oh my god, that rocks!" she said to her mom, "when are we moving?"
"Well, work payed for the apartment already so we should be moving in 2 weeks. I didn't expect you to be so happy!" replied Eliza's mom. Eliza didn't reply, she just grinned. The only drawback was that there was less time for her plan. Oh well, she thought and went to get dressed.
When she was ready, Eliza called mike, Billie Joe's best friend and band member. Eliza had been good friends with Mike since she and Billie had started going out and she had spent more time with the Sweet Children.
"Hey," said Mike, "I heard about what happened at prom. Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Do you wanna go to a movie or something today?"
"Sure!" said Mike, "Seeya there in... 10 minutes?"
"Ok," replied Eliza and she hung up.
**MIKE'S P.O.V**
Finally. He finally had a chance to be alone with Eliza. He had liked her since, well, forever but had t keep it bottled up because of Billie Joe. Mike checked himself out in the mirror and ran his hand though his hair. "You're the loooooooove machine!" he thought to himself and laughed. Little did he know that Eliza was currently plotting to use him to get to Billie Joe, little did he know that Eliza knew exactly how he felt about her since they had met.
**ELIZA'S P.O.V**
Eliza and Mike sat in the darkened movie theatre. The movie was supposed to be scary, but Eliza was very bored. Finally the music became suspenseful. She pretended to be scared and when the crazy man snuck up behind the girl and stabbed her Eliza let out a big, fake scream and jumped into Mike's arms. He had his arm around her, and kept putting his hand on her leg. She didn't try to move his hand, and soon they were making out. They didn't really see much more of the movie, and were still pashing when the lights turned on. Some old people told them to get a room so Eliza took Mike's hand and they left. She smiled to herself. Her plan was in motion.
**MIKE'S P.O.V**
WOOOOOOOOOOOOH FUCKEN HOOOOOOOOOOOOO I JUST MADE OUT WITH ELIZA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
**ELIZA'S P.O.V**
"Op Ivy's playing at the Gilman tonight, wanna go?" Mike asked Eliza.
"Cool! Sure!" she said.
"Awesome," said Mike, "well that's at 9:00 and its 6:00 now, so we have, like, 3 hours to kill... "
"Oh, I have an idea of something we could do," said Eliza with a naughty smile and took his hand. They walked back to Mike's place and by the time they opened the door, they were making out again. They made their way up the stairs, leaving a trail of clothes behind them. When they mad it to Mike's bedroom, Mike was just in boxers and Eliza in bra and panties. He threw her onto his bed, and, well... let's leave the details to your imagination!
When they were finished, Mike put his arm around Eliza and said, "I really love you; I have since the first time we met,"
Eliza lay there for a while and thought things over. She had just lost it. She was no longer a virgin. She had lost her virginity to the love of her life's best friend! She had to admit that it wasn't the way she had wanted it. It was fun, yes, but she had always pictured her and Billie Joe... Eliza snapped out of her thoughts and rolled over onto Mike.
Later that evening they put their clothes back on and went to the Gilman. Eliza and Mike stood in the mosh pit and jumped around like crazy to Operation Ivy. Eliza kept looking around, scoping the room until... yes! She saw Billie Joe! He was sitting at the bar, holding a beer and looked wasted. Mike tried to yell over the music "let's go get a drink!" and they went over to the bar.
**BILLIE JOE'S P.O.V**
Billie put his head in his hands. He could barely hear his favourite music because his head was so full of thoughts. He couldn't stop thinking about Eliza. He had fucked up so bad; he just didn't know why he did it! He was such an asshole; he hated himself so much for hurting her. He really did love her and fucked up by cheating on her. Billie noticed a couple sit down at the bar. He didn't look at them, but watched them out of the corner of his eye. The girl was sitting on the guys lap and they were kissing. The guy was holding a beer and his free hand was on the girl's ass. Billie watched them and thought about how lucky that guy was, to have girlfriend. When the two broke apart Billie turned ever so slightly and got a look at their faces. He couldn't believe his eyes! It was Mike and Eliza! TOGETHER! He just gaped. Then Mike saw Billie and the smile wiped off his face. "Shit," he mimed.
Billie stood up. That bastard was supposed to be his best friend, then goes and fools around with Billie's girl! Billie was so pissed. He grabbed Mike by the shirt and slammed him up against the wall. By this time Eliza was nowhere to be seen. "Whoa, man, calm down... " said Mike, but Billie cut him off.
"What the fuck are you doing?? You bastard, putting your hands on Eliza... "
Mike shoved Billie and yelled "You two aren't together anymore, remember, you CHEATED on her! At least... "
Billie punched Mike hard in the mouth. The two started punching on until Eliza came along and pulled them apart.
**ELIZA'S P.O.V**
Eliza pulled Mike outside and said "Holy shit, I'm so sorry I didn't think that Billie Joe would be there... it was stupid... are you okay??" Mike nodded yes, but his nose was bleeding and he had a big bruise on the side of his face. But Eliza had expected Billie Joe to be there, and now she had him exactly where she wanted him. She was using Mike to dangle herself in front of Billie. But despite her wanting Billie to be sad, Eliza felt terrible. She just wanted Billie Joe back so bad, and could get him back so easily. But who knew that he wouldn't just cheat on her again? Eliza stopped thinking about Billie and kissed mike. His nose had stopped bleeding now so they got into the back of Mike's mom's car and started going at it. Billie Joe was bound to leave the Gilman soon and he would pass the car on his way home. Eliza wanted him to think that she had moved on.
**BILLIE JOE'S P.O.V**
Billie went into the bathroom and looked in the grubby mirror. He had a bruise on his cheek from when Mike punched him, but the scratches from Eliza's slap were more painful. They were red and obvious on Billie's cheek, and hurt like a bitch because Mike had punched Billie Joe really hard. Billie Joe splashed some water on his face and decided it was about time he went home before he got really wasted. He walked down the street and past an alleyway. In the alley he saw Mike's mom's car, and it was shaking and bumping like crazy. Billie threw the empty bottle he was holding at the car and it put a massive dent in the bonnet but they didn't stop. As he walked home, Billie Joe felt tears running down his swollen cheek as he thought of Eliza. The girl he loved so much had moved on. She had lost it to his best friend. Billie felt so depressed, he wanted to die. There seemed to be no point in living. While Eliza and mike were happy, 'enjoying' themselves in the car, Billie Joe trudged home and considered suicide...
Two Weeks later
**ELIZA'S P.O.V**
When Eliza told Mike that she was moving, he was heartbroken. It hurt her to have to tell him this; after all, before they were going out they were best friends. Eliza hated using him like this, but was overjoyed about the fact that she had made Billie feel like shit. Perhaps now he knew what it was like...
Eliza said goodbye to Mike for the last time.
She kissed him and he whispered in her ear "I love you. I will never forget you." Eliza felt Mike's tear fall onto her shoulder as she hugged him. Eliza cried as well, she would miss him so much. But she was glad to finally leave Berkeley. Eliza and her mom got into the cab and as they drove away, Mike waved and Eliza watched him grow smaller and smaller as they sped away. Eventually his figure faded away into the distance, along with Billie Joe, the Gilman, Pinole valley high school and all the painful memories...
