The Good Life, chapter 2
It was the first day of school new pencils, new books, new teachers and new students. Three new students. As I walked into my tutor room on the first day of year eleven I tripped and fell to the floor. I looked behind me at what I had tripped over and saw a backpack lying in the aisle. I angrily got up and glared down at the owner. A new guy. He smiled up at me, obviously amused and in an American accent he said "Sorry but you should really watch where you're going."
I was about to beat his ass, yeah seriously I play rugby, fear me. Unfortunately the teacher strolled into the room and told me to take my seat so I went to sit in my normal seat but there was a person sat there and I looked round the room for a seat... anywhere, I would have sat anywhere. The only seat available was next to trip-me-over-and-laugh-about-it boy so I did what any sane person would do after being tripped over, I sat on the floor. I'm sorry did I say sane? I meant insane. Everyone laughed and my tutor just carried on talking about random crap.
After about twenty minutes of filling in my new timetable I felt someone plop down next to me I slowly turned my head and rolled my eyes simply saying "You"
"yeah, me" trip-me-over-and-laugh-about-it boy smiled widely at me. "I do go by 'you' mostly but my friends call me Cool, Tre Cool" He held out his hand for me.
"You mean you have friends? Really?" I replied sarcastically.
He put his hand to his chest and said mockingly, "Ouch that hurt. You're feisty I like that."
I rolled my eyes and went back to my timetable, well tried to. It's kind of hard to concentrate when someone is constantly poking you in the ribs. I turned to face Tre, my eyes like daggers "What do you want?" I hissed.
"I was wondering when we were going to do this" He smiled, he's always smiling it gets annoying.
I stared at him blankly for a few moments and when I realised he wasn't planning on elaborating I asked "what?"
"This you know me and you. I think those young whippersnappers today call it a date." He answered like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
I couldn't believe this guy who did he think he was? "I'm not going on a date with you."
"Why not?" His smile never moved from his face.
"I think the appropriate question is why would I? You tripped me up... " I started but was rudely interrupted.
"That wasn't my fault maybe you're just a clutz."
"Yeah and maybe you're a fucking asshole." I screamed in his face
Before Tre could reply our tutor was in front of us telling to get out of his classroom. I was astounded, I had never been sent out before, teachers loved me. So there I was standing in the hallway for everyone to see, 'Miss goody two shoes' had finally gotten told off when my saviour came, in the shape of my boyfriend.
I was trying my best to ignore the asshole so I had turned away from him when I felt arms slip around my waist I was about to scream my head off but I realised they felt familiar. "Hey Happy first day of the new school year" Tom whispered in my ear.
I turned round so I was still in his arms and kissed him softly. After I pulled away I chanced a glance at Tre and noticed he was staring at us and he wasn't smiling anymore. 'Ha' I thought to myself 'Take that'
