Above My Head., chapter 2
"There you are Victoria." My mom exclaimed." I thought you might be at the stores or found some friends to hang out with." Ahh... NO! Shows how much you kow about your own freaking daughter. I don't like clothing, as I mentioned, and I have no friends. I used to but that's another story...
"No. I am here and I was about to ask Mr. P for a job for this summer." I explained to my so-called mother.
"Oh okay. I'll be in the store nxtdoor if you need me." She infomed me. I nodded signaling "Okay". She wlked out of the music store and dissappeared into the crowd. I got up and searched for Mr. Pendle.
I found him near the accordions as he dusted them. I walked up to him and asked him if he had any job opennings. He said he did and would gladly give on to me.
"I would like a job as well." Said a voice behind me. I turned around and saw Billie there.
"You can have a job as well." Mr. Pendle declared." And your name?"
"Billie Joe Armstrong." Billie responded.
"Okay. You two will start tommoroww. Understood?" Mr Pendle said. Me and Billie nodded yes.
We walked out of the store together when I saw my used-to-be friends walking and giggling. They stared at me and then at Billie who was next to me. I glared at them. I still could't believe that I used to be friends with them.
"Well, well." Courtney said." Looks like Vicky has a boyfriend."
"Hmmm... Matches her." Sally commented. "I could've sworn she couldn't have sunk lower hough." Brittany laughed.
"Shut the FUCK up!" I screamed.
"Oooo. Touchy." They said in unison and giggled as they walked away.
"Bitches. " I said under my breath
"Who were those girls?" Billie said in a confused tone.
"You don't want to know." I said. Stupid preps! Stupid preps...
Courtney, Brittany, and Sally used to be my best friends since 6th grade. Everything changed in the summer after eighth grade. The went on being thier girly selves while I went bookish. I always loved books and they knew that and respected it. It all changed when we came back from that summer.
We all met by the cafeteria under the bright August sun. They were all wearing light blue skirts, pink tops, and light makeup. I came wearing ripped jeans, a black shirt, and my long black hair down. I naver wore make-up so no surprise.
When they saw me they couldn't believe it. I was always wearing frilly girly stuff and my hair always in a bun or ponytail. They started commenting about my newly aquired style. They just stood there in shock. That's when we driffted apart and I became a loner.
I was still adored by all my teachers though, and that's all I cared about. I didn't care about boys anymore(well I never really did)or the gossip(actually I NEVER liked that either). All I cared was about the outside world and about music.
The Arts took over my way of thinking again. The Arts were waht I used to think about before my friends came along. Nowadays, my face and clothes would be splttered with paint or smudged with charcoal. My fingers all sore from playing the piano. All I cared about wa the Arts.
I walked towards the store where my mom was then I heard my name being called. I turned around and saw Billie standing there. He was signaling with his hand to come towards him. So I did as was requesting.
"Hey, Victoria!" He said." Do you wanna hang out with me and my friend?"
I thought about it for a while. I didn't know what to say. Someone's asking me to hang out with them. Since I had nothing better to do with my life here at the Mall I said "Sure. Why not?"
