The Unsuspecting Victim, chapter 2
<p>Adrienne sat on the couch exited to tell Billie Joe the brilliant news. She held the pregnancy test in her hand while she thought of names she could call the new baby. She hoped it would be as beautiful as it's father, boy or girl. She stood up and went into the kitchen to get a budwizer. As she returned the phone rang.<br /> "Hello,"she said as she picked up the phone.<br /> "Adrienne you n-need to come down the hospital,<br /> "Mike tried to say without crying but he failed miserably.<br /> "What's happened?"Adrienne quickly replied knowing that whatever had happened had something to do with Billie Joe.<br /> "I'll tell you when you get here. I need to go. Tre needs me,"said Mike.<br /> "Okay,"answered Adrienne quickly putting down the phone and grabbing her jacket from the arm of her chair. Just as she was about to walk out of the door she caught a glimpse of something in the corner of her eye.<br /> "Billie,aren't you at the hospital?"Adrienne asked puzzled.Billie Joe nodded, as he did Adrienne caught a glimmer of the bullet wound. She froze dead and placed a hand over her mouth.<br /> "You alright?"she asked.'Of course he isn't alright'she thought to herself.' What a stupid qustion to ask.' Billie Joe shook his head. Adrienne walked up to him and was just about to hug him when all of a sudden he vanished without a trace.'I' ve really gotta get more sleep,'she thought to herself.She grabbed her car keys and hurried out of the door.</p>
<p> Adrienne was just about to ask about Billie Joe at reception when she spotted Mike and Tre, crying. She knew this wasn't good news. In fact is was going to be the worst news she'd ever get in her life. She held her head high and boldly walked up to where Mike and Tre were sat.<br /> "Adie!"exclaimed Mike flinging his arms around her.<br /> "Where's Billie Joe?"asked Adrienne. Mike's eyes swelled up with tears and he started crying. Tre tried to hide his tears as he pointed to a hospital trolley with a sheet draped over it.<br /> "No!"cried Adrienne."He's not is he?" she cried tears springing out of her eyes. <br /> Tre sadly nodded and burried his head in his hands. Adrienne rushed up to the trolley and flicked back the sheet. Tears shot down her face when she saw Billie Joe lying beneath it. He looked peaceful like he was sleeping. Then Adrienne spotted the bullet wound, the exact same one as she had seen earlier.<br /> "He came to visit me,"Adie mumbled.<br /> "What?"asked Mike.<br /> "N-nothing,"stuttered Adrienne. Then reality hit her. Billie Joe was gone and never coming back. She let out an almighty cry. One that could be heard on the whole of the ward. She collapsed onto the floor and Mike and Tre came rushing up to her. Mike helped her up while Tre placed the sheet back over Billie Joe's body. He kissed him on the forehead and then let his friend rest.</p>
<p> Adrienne let go of Mike and looked up when she felt someone tapping her shoulder. She looked up and almost had a heart attack. Billie Joe was stood there clear as day.<br /> "Follow me,"he whispered,careful not to wake Mike or Tre. Adrienne got up and left Mike and Tre who were sleeping peacefully. She followed Billie Joe around endless corridors until he lead her to a doorway. She followed him through to the hospital chapel and they sat down on a bench.<br /> "Billie Joe this prank isn't funny!" she screamed as soon as they sat down.<br /> "It isn't a prank,"he said. <br /> "And I'm supposed to believe you am I?You've gone too far this time.This is just sick!"she screamed."Anyway,why are we in the chapel?"she asked confused.<br /> "It's the only quiet place I could think of,"he replied."<br /> I hate you!"Adrienne screamed. She went to hit Billie Joe but as soon as she made contact with him he disappeared.<br /> "Billie,"Adie said worridly. No answer.<br /> "Billie!"she cried louder.<br /> "Don't worry,I know you really love me,"said a voice from no where.<br /> "Where are you Billie?"she screamed. This time no matter how hard she tried she didn't get an answer.<br /> "What have I done?"she sobbed to herself.</p>
<p>Adrienne picked up the hospital phone and dialled Ollie's number. Billie Joe had been moved into a hospital bed in his own private room. He was still in his Adeline shirt and tie cause Adrienne thought he would be more comfortable like that.<br /> "Hello?,"said Ollie as she picked up her phone.<br /> "H-hello,"said Adie.<br /> "Adrienne what's wrong darling?"asked Ollie noticing it was Adrienne straight away.<br /> Adrienne continued to cry.<br /> "What's happened?"asked Ollie anxiously.<br /> "He's gone!"cried Adrienne.<br /> "Who?"asked Ollie worridly. She thought it might be Billie Joe she was on about but then she told herself to shut up. Billie Joe was okay.<br /> "B-billie Joe is gone,"sobbed Adie.<br /> "What?How?He didn't die in pain did he?What happened?"Ollie managed to sob all of the questions out.<br /> "He was shot,"Adie said sadly.<br /> "No! My Billie's gone. Who would do such a thing?"cried Ollie. Adrienne had never thought of that question before.<br /> "I.......I don't know," Adrienne said sadly.<br /> "Can you and the boys come down to Highgrove hospital?" asked Adie.<br /> "Sure,"said Ollie before putting down the reciever. Adrienne started to walk back to Billie Joe's hospital room when he popped up infront of her. He smiled but Adie stood there blank faced.<br /> "Why can I see you and Mike and Tre can't?"asked Adrienne.<br /> "I think it's time for them to see me,"said Billie Joe.<br /> "Fetch them for me please,"he said.She hesitated and then ran off to get Mike and Tre.</p>
<p>"Mike, Tre, Come see this, Please!"Adrienne pleaded.<br /> "We're not in the mood,"said Tre who was starting to sound like a grumpy,old man.<br /> "I think this might be beneficial,"said Adrienne.<br /> They followed her out of the room reluctantly and froze in horror. Tre gasped and Mike dropped the glass of water he was grasping.</p>
