The Middle Of Nowhere, chapter 2
Mike thought, "'K now where do I start?" He got in his car and drove round the town looking for Tre. He realized that, all though driving was a good idea, a better one would be to get out so he did.
He walked for a bit until he saw Tim Hortons and went inside. He asked the shop assistant and several other people if they'd seen Tre but they hadn't. So he continued his journey down the road asking in all the shops if Tre had been in but everyone said, "No."
By this time, Mike was really getting worried. His friend had been gone along time. Mike sat down and started to cry. He rang Billie and told him the news. Mike hadn't a cluie where to look and thought it was extremely useless to continue as he had no idea of a location to start from. So he went back to the studio.
*Back at the studio...*
"Mike just rang," Billie said to Adrienne.
"What did he say?" she replied.
Billie shuffled his feet and then said," he can't find him anywhere. I think we better help. I'm starting to get worried and Mike seemed very upset."
So Adrienne and Billie began to wrap things in the studio up. Just then Mike returned and Billie heard the door of his car shut. "It's Mike," he said.
Mike had tears running down his face and his shirt and coat where saturated, "Billie, Billie, help. I can't find him. I'm so scared."
Adrienne cuddled Mike and Billie said, "Look, we'll all go and try and find him."
Mike replied, "It's pointless, where do we start?"
Billie said, "I don't know but i have a map so we'll use that okay? We'll plot out our journey first before we leave and meet up at a certain place."
So Billie got the map and all 3 of them decided that Billie would search and shops again, Adrienne would go with Mike and they would search any hostels abandoned buildings, and remote looking places. So there 3 of them set of in different directions to find Tre.
Meanwhile...
"Mate, please don't hurt me. I really have to go now. Please, please, no...AARRGGHHH!!!!!"
The place was an old army building. It was deserted and old but still had a roof on and was occasionally used for army training purposes, but on this day it was empty. Except for Tre, Several others, and 3 men called The Imposters.
They were frightening men who were the modern day equivelant of a highway man. They savaged people's homes and were relentless in what they would say was justice.
Tre was tied to a chair very tightly and was finding it difficult to breath. The duck tape around his chest was so tight that it was cutting into his skin. He was hoping and praying sometime soon someone was gonna come and save him. The others were fans of Tre who had been talking with him at the time.
They had also been taken so to be used as bargaining tools. Tre thought to himself, 'This is so unfair for these other people. They have done nothing wrong.'
One woman had a child with her. One of the men took the child away and the woman screamed, "No please not my child!" The man just smirked and dumped the child in a puddle of water. Tre said, "You're all gonna pay for this. This is imprisonment. I hope you rot in hell."
One of the men turned away from Tre then spun round and hit him with such force that it broke his skin on his face. A little trickle of blood ran down his cheek and dropped onto his pants leg. Tre winced and the man said, "We have you now. And when your friends come, we will get them too."
And with a roar of laughter walked away.
Tre' only hope was that his children would stay safe. He knew his friends would come, he knew they could get hurt. Was it really worth them getting hurt? He'd die before anything happened to them. The men finally left for supper and Tre and the others were relieved.
Some women were crying and the men were trying to comfort them but it was pointless. The place was dusty and dirty and cold and wet. As night fell Tre's eyes started to shut. He was aware of a light in the distance behind the stained glass, and the dust on the window sill, but he thought he was dreaming.
Then he heard a noise. A couple of others heard it too. One of the men sat under the cold, dark, damp window ledge asked, "Whats that noise?" Tre said, "I'm not sure. I hope they haven't come back."
The anticipation was intolerable. Was the men back to get them again? Or was it.......help? The Outside dor handle turned but it was locked. Someone was whispereing on the other side of the door and then ran off.
The shadows suggested two people were still waiting and as the 3rd returned someone was heard to say, " Is this ok?"
Tre thought he recognized the voice but was a little too frightened to care. Someone was there. Then they all heard hollow, loud footsteps. There were 3 pairs and they were getting louder and louder.
Tre's heart began to pump so loud and hard he thought it was gonna explode. The handle to the door of the room they were all in turned. The dor started to open. Three figures stood in the doorway.
It was Billie, Mike and Adrienne.
