"You Want Fries With That?", chapter 1

Hi my names Candy. Don't ask I hate it. And it doesn't help that my last names Corner. Yepp Candy Corner. Dumb parents. Well anyway, this is the story that you would only tell your one best friend, the one that could almost be your sister. But since I never had any good friends like that I'll just tell you.

Well I have messed up parents. My mom is the regular fuck up. My dad he is a scary woman beater and I hate him. Ever since I realized I had a screwed up life I have wanted to run away. When I was nineteen I finally succeeded.

I grabbed my bank card and few bucks I had been saving. Once I was out I ran to a near by payphone and called my aunt. I never really talked to my aunt Jean. She was more of the perfect sister and my mom was well a little less then perfect. She knew about my dad and the beating but she never really said anything cause she was to scared of him. I told her I was coming and why. She was happy that I had made the choice of running away.

I got my bus ticket to California. Not the place that I really wanted to go, but as long as I was far away from my old life I was fine. I held on to the bar on the side of the grey hound bus and walked up the stairs. Handed the ticket to the driver and sat down.
The whole ride I sat and looked out the window even though I had brought my walk-man to keep me company. My pulse was high and my heart was beating really fast. It was like I was playing tag and someone was trying to catch me. Except this time no one was.

Once I reached my destination, I called my aunt to tell her to come and pick me up and that I had arrived ok. She was soon there in her mini van to pick me up.
So long story short. I went back to my aunts and met my cousin. Lyn, even though she's only twelve she is pretty cool. I knew that I needed a job because I wanted to move out by the time I was at least twenty two. Since I am not the most smartest person in the world, I ended up working at the most disgusting and worst place to work, McDonald's. Ok, it's not that bad but it still sucks.

I started working at the drive through. I noticed that I usually saw the same people a lot. Well you get your usual fat bald old men who are to fat to get out of there cars and then you get the soccer mom with the three whiney kids in the back seat. But there was this one guy that always made me smile.
