"Hole In The Wall", chapter 1

Young Cassie Fincher lay sleeping in her newly bought apartment when she was awoken by a loud banging on her wall. Sitting up to look at it, she was faced by a huge chainsaw cutting through her wall. Feeling faint, she fell back down and blacked out.

Morning came quite quickly for Cassie as she heard her alarm go off. She lazily threw her arm to the side and hit the off button. She groaned and threw off her blankets and opened her eyes. Without realizing it, she turned to look at her wall and then turned to look at her floor. Widening her eyes, she snapped her head back to look at her wall. Letting her mouth gape open, Cassie found herself faced with a giant hole in her wall!

"What. The. Fuck," Cassie stated, moving her head into the giant hole and looking around. Quickly she was faced with her three neighbors.

"Hey! Guys look! There's a giant hole in the wall!" a really emoed out dude yelled from the center of the hole.

"And there's a really hot chick in the middle of it!" he said again, causing Cassie to blush.

"Who are you?" Cassie asked looking up at the dark brown haired fellow. He stuck out a hand.

"Jimmy," he simply said. Cassie eyed his hand and carefully shook it.

So that's how it all started. The summer of our lives. The summer that made us finally realize who our true friends were, and how it would always be. But, before I get ahead of myself, I guess we should start from the beginning, where it really started. High school graduation...

Back then I was known as Evie... but wait, I guess I still am. Moving on, it was 2005 and life was great. I had a bunch of lovely friends, and we all were excited about leaving high school.

What am I kidding? We were devastated! High school graduation meant leaving everything we ever had together! We were all freaked out about the future and what would happen after we all went to college. And worst of all, we did not have any clue where we were headed. But for the most part, we were just focused on today. The last day of our last year in school. First, graduation. Then, a little stop at Starbucks.

"So, here we are. The last day of school, the last day of our jail time," Jimmy muttered throwing an arm over my shoulders. I smirked and looked up at him through my sunglasses.

Freeze shot. Ok, Jimmy was the perfect emo-styled guy. The whole hair-in-his-face with highlights and tight-pants. Pretty much everything he wore resembled the new style these days. But it didn't bother me, he was still the same Jimmy I knew when I was eight.

"Doesn't matter, once the real world kicks in, we are all doomed," I muttered rolling my eyes and sighing. He smirked like me and nodded.

"One sentence after the next," he put it. I smiled.

"Exactly," I looked up to be faced with Laura and Chrissy.

Freeze again.
Laura, Laura, Laura. What to say? She's still as I remember her four years ago. Black, straight hair with ultra purple streaks. I must say, she had the coolest hair in the group. The Used band t-shirt, with her ripped jeans that had writing on it. Chrissy on the other hand was slightly different from four years ago. She had the whole emo hair too. Her bangs were in her face and were highlighted bright red. She wore a Used t shirt too and her dark jeans with her wallet in her back pocket.

"What up, my homeslice?" she asked in her ghetto voice.

"Nothing much Chrissy," I replied. She smiled and Laura sighed.

"So, it's the last day of school," Laura said, joining our march towards the school. Jimmy nodded.

"In other words, the last day of our easy lives," he simply put it. I nodded and looked ahead.

"Hey look, it's Cassie," Jimmy pointed out for all of us. Chrissy looked up and smiled widely. She immediately started to run up to Cassie and hugged her.

"Hi to you too, Chrissy," Cassie choked out. I laughed and gave her a hug as well.
Cassie waved to the rest of us and Laura looked around.

"We are missing a few, aren't we?" she asked, lowering her sunglasses. I nodded.

"Kim, Sara, Geno and Kyle," I named off a few. Just as I said that, Geno and Kyle came riding in on their skateboards.

"Hey guys!" Kyle yelled as he circled us. Chrissy watched as he stopped right next to her and Laura.

"Hey," they did the whole crazy handshake and hugged.

"Dude, Jimmy, how did you get here before us?" Geno asked, leaning on his skateboard. Jimmy rolled his eyes.

"It's called a car. It's a lot faster than a skateboard," Jimmy smirked and leaned on me. Without really realizing it, Kim and Sara appeared right before all of us too.

"Sorry we're late," Sara said and hugged Chrissy. Kim copied and waved.

"Hey," she muttered. We all smiled and walked into the school.

Ok, so maybe graduation wasn't all that important, so I'll just skip ahead to where we all met up at Starbucks to discuss our future.

"I'm scared," Cassie opened up the discussion. I looked down at my coffee.

"Yeah, I am too," I muttered. Jimmy patted me on the back.

"It will all be ok, I promise," Jimmy smiled.

"How can you be so sure?" Laura asked. "We only got the summer until we all go out to college and we get on with our lives." Laura half smiled and shook her head. Jimmy frowned.

"But that's still two months away. We still got the summer to hang out," Jimmy mentioned.

"Yeah, and figure out what the fuck we're doing in life," Kim added. Sara nodded.

"What are we gonna do until then?" she asked. All of us shrugged except Jimmy. I looked at him and raised an eyebrow.

"What's going on in that twisted perverted mind of yours, Jimmy?" I asked. He smiled an evil smile.

"You remember when I knocked down your wall in a drunken rampage last month, Cassie?" Jimmy asked, turning to Cassie. She nearly choked on her decaf. She nodded.

"Damn right, I remember that, you nearly cut me in half-" Jimmy cut her off.

"Well I've got a brilliant idea." Chrissy gasped. We all looked at her. She pointed at Jimmy.

"Jimmy used a big word!" she laughed. Jimmy looked at her like she was crazy.

"Moving on," Jimmy said. He paused for a moment to gather his thoughts. "Since half the wall is already torn down, why don't we just tear down the rest professionally?" Jimmy asked, using his hands as models.

"But what does that have to do with our future?" Geno asked. Jimmy shot a glare at him.

"I'm not finished," He paused again and looked down at his hands. "If we do that, Kim, Chrissy, Laura, Evie and Sara can all move into your house, Cassie," Jimmy stated. Cassie nodded.

"Explain this. I only have four rooms, and one has a giant gaping hole in it!" Cassie yelled, slamming her hands on the table.

"Exactly why we tear it down completely!" Jimmy raised his hands in the air. He placed an arm around me and grabbed my butt. I narrowed my eyes.

"Evie can room with me," Jimmy started.

"Pervert," I muttered. Chrissy laughed.

"Kyle and Chrissy can room together," Jimmy stated looking at the two. Kyle threw his arm in the air. "Laura can have my old room,"

"Fair enough," Laura said.

"Geno can keep his room." Jimmy paused to think. "Cassie, you can have a different room in your house, so we can transform your room into a living room," Jimmy looked at Kim and Sara. "You guys can have the last two rooms in Cassie's side of the apartment." Jimmy smiled and leaned back in his chair. I smiled and rested my head in my hand.

"That might just work."
