Words are Cheap, Lies are Expensive, chapter 2

Sally was the kind of girl who cared about everyone despite what your label was. She stuck up for anyone against anyone, even if her friends didn't like that particular person.

It was different with me thought because my friends often teased her and bullied her and I never did anything to her; I never did anything to stop it either, so she had a good reason for not liking me.

I guess being the captain of the football team sucks when you want a punk girl to like you especially when all of your friends were either on the football team or preps. The thing is, I like punk music, but none of my friends knew that. They knew I liked Fallout Boy, but everyone liked them and they were emo so it didn't count.

My favorite band was Green Day. They were so cool because it didn't matter what album it was from, every song by them just rocked. I had all their cd's but once again one of my friends didn't know because they hated Green Day.

I had wanted to quit the team for a while and I was going to do it today. I was so sick of all those mindless clones that I called 'friends'. I searched through my closet for something non-preppy all I could find was Areopostale and American eagle 'God I suck.' I thought to myself. I finally found some ripped jeans and a black tee shirt.

I walked up the road, turned the corner and walked 3 more blocks until I got to school. When I got there I saw the punks standing near the big oak tree like they did every morning. Sally was leaned against the tree with her sketchbook drawing something, I couldn't see what. The light hit her face giving her an angelic glow; she was an angel... in fishnets. She put her sketchbook down and her friend Ellie started talking to her.

I turned to see my 'friends' beating up nerd kid. Sally apparently saw them too because she stopped talking and headed over to them with Ellie tagging along behind her.

"Hey you!" she screamed at the guy beating the kid up "Leave him alone!"
