Words are Cheap, Lies are Expensive, chapter 3

"Hey you! Yeah I'm talkin' to you!! leave that freak alone!!" Sally yelled at the dude that was messing with that dork/emo/nerd whatever he was kid.

"What's it to you?" he snorted

I wanted to laugh because Sally was pretty scrawny and the guy she was about to pick a fight with, Mike (not Mike Dirnt you moron) was 3 times her size, and 2 times my size but she didn't back down.

"I don't like stuck up preppy jocks messin' with my fellow losers is all," she explained.

"Oh, so you have a problem with me beating this kid up you little freak?"

"Yeah I do...and I am a freak and VERY proud of it!"

"You don't wanna start with me you little -" She cut him off

"Whatcha gonna do? Eat me? Sit on me? Huh? What?" This guy was getting told.

"SHUT UP YOU... YOU... WEIRD PHSYCO WRIST SLITTING FREAK!!" he yelled

"Sir Eats-a-lot, may I call you Sir Eats-a-lot? Calm down please you don't want me to get my friends from the phstch. ward down her do you? You know the men in the white coats? I'm sure if you Anger Managment didn't work they would be sure to take you back to the 'happy hotel' with them when they come pick me up," she retaliated as if she had planned what she was going to say days ago but she was coming up with this out of the air.

"Here you can take him!" Mike said as he threw the poor kid to her feet.

She gave him her hand and helped him up, the guy was gasping for breath because he finally escaped Mike's grasp.

"Dude, thanks I really gotta learn to stick up for myself," the guy thanked her

"Cheer up emo kid," she said smiling, "Tag! You're it!" she yelled as she tagged him on the shoulder and took off running.

He ran after her and chased her to the tree where she was drawing before. Ellie was heading back herself.

"Ellie!" I called to the black haired girl.

"Leave me alone Jack we've had ENOUGH of you and your friends for one day," she snapped at me quickening her pace.

"No I just wanted to say sorry that Mike was pickin' on that kid, I'm sick of it too," I explained but I could tell she wasn't impressed.

"What do you want?" she aked knowing I didn't step up for my friends' actions.

"For you to get Sally to talk to me...please."

"Jack you and I stopped being friends in the 6th grade I don't like you anymore and Sally never has so...no unless you can give me a good reason.

"To apologize to her about all those times my friends treated her like crap," I begged Ellie sighed with pity.

"Alright but she probably won't buy it," she said

"I know."

She grinned I guess I forgot to mention me and Ellie were best friends in grades 1-5 but in 6th grade I met Mike and he got me into sports and she got into punk and met Sally so...well you get it.

"Hey! That's MY studded belt!" she said pointing to the belt I was wearing.

"How do you know it's your's when your wearing one right now," I protested.

"Because I left it over at your house one time when you asked to borrow it and ya never gave it back."

"Oh."

"I don't care you keep it."

"Oh. Ok thanks...uhh see you later."

"Later."

*Ellie's POV*

That was weird. I haven't talked to Jack since the 6th grade. Memories came flooding back, the memories that explained why we were no longer friends...
