Finding The Perfect Girl (A Tre Cool Story), chapter 10
After cleaning up the dishes, the crew went into the living room. There wasn't enough room for poor Cloe, though. "Um, can I just grab a chair from a kitchen, then?" she said.
"There's a free seat right here," Tre said, motioning towards his lap.
Cloe blushed, but decided it was better than having to drag a hard plastic chair from the kitchen so sat down. Tre tried to refrain from having a boner but unfortunately did, so he quickly crossed his fingers and put them in his lap. Mike glared at him, and Cloe pretended not to notice. There was an awkward silence for several seconds then finally Tre coughed. Billie looked at them and said, "Why are you guys so quiet?"
"You have snot coming out of your nose," Tre said. Mike rolled his eyes and muttered, "liar."
Billie attempted to wipe it away but there was nothing there. "Hey," he said.
"I guess it must have crawled back up your nose," Tre said, smiling. Billie made a face.
They all went back to watching TV. Tre laced his hands around Cloe's stomach and pulled her back towards him. Cloe looked a bit uncomfortable at first but then relaxed, the back of her head now resting against Tre's shoulder. Tre almost leaned his head over to kiss her, but remembered that he shouldn't try to go so fast (although she was kinda waiting for him to make the move). Billie and Mike thought it was time to give them some privacy so got up.
"I have to go to the bathroom," Billie said.
Mike stretched and said, "I gotta get to bed," then adding, "See ya, Frank Edwin Wright the Third."
Tre blushed. "Don't call me that!" he said.
"Your real name's Frank?" she giggled. "That's so cute."
"W-ell, I like being called Tre better. My parents are really old-fashioned."
Since there was more space on the couch now Cloe moved off his lap. Tre leaned his elbow against the armrest. He was going to find out more about her then ask her out. "So, do you do any sports or go to the gym?"
"Yeah, I have a membership at the Y and I can play soccer," she said.
"I play American football, soccer, and I get exercise from playing the drums," he laughed.
"How's that?"
"Well, you work out your arms by using your sticks and your legs by pushing on the pedals. How else do you think I'd get like this?" he flexed his arm muscles, which were very big.
Cloe laughed and said, "Wow, you're so strong." Tre swelled with pride and his eyes sparkled. "Thanks," he said.
"Do you have any fave movies?" She asked.
"Yeah, too many to count. I love comedy," Tre said.
"I like comedy and action."
"Coolness."
The two talked for more than a half hour when Tre looked at her. 'Now was the time,' he thought. "So, Cloe, um... I'm wondering if you wanna go to a movie or something sometime."
She looked at him and smiled. "I'd love to!"
"Alright, great." Tre said. They exchanged numbers and emails. "Oh, it's 11:30 already. Gotta go," she said. "I'll talk to you later."
Cloe grabbed her stuff and headed out, skipping to her car. "Oooh, I can't wait!" she whispered excitedly into the cold night air, and drove off.
Tre was still sitting on the couch, comfortable. "Yes! I can't wait!" he said aloud happily to the TV. Pretty soon he lumbered off to bed.
