Finding The Perfect Girl (A Tre Cool Story), chapter 12

What to wear? Cloe thought. She couldn't wear a skirt because of the roller coasters (even though Tre might like it) and she wanted to wear something casual, so she decided on a pair of light-denim capris and her black platform sandals with a black (and blue flowers) fitted top, and grabbed her silver sunglasses and blue purse. Cloe painted her nails with a blue coat, and fixed her hair into a bun. As an added touch, she sprayed herself with her favourite Paris Hilton perfume, done.

The door rang, and Tre was there. He stopped and stared at her. "Y-you look...gorgeous," he said.

"Thanks, you look nice too. Let's go," she replied, smiling. They headed out to Mike's van (to allow room for more people). On the way Cloe talked to Adrienne and Anastasia, Billie and Mike's girlfriends.

It was fairly busy at the fair, but the lines weren't bad. The first thing the group did was go to the Animal Show, which was basically the nearest attraction to the entrance. They looked at the oinking pigs, clucking chickens, fuzzy llamas, and all the other animals. "Wow, this llama is cool, dude! He has a 'fro!" Billie said, pointing to a brown llama with a lump of curly fur perched on its head.

"Awesome," Tre exclaimed. He tried to pet it, but the llama snapped and missed at Tre's hand.

"Whoa, I think he doesn't want me to mess up his 'do," he said, standing back a bit.

"Let's go check out the rides now," Mike said impatiently.

Everyone went their separate ways and decided to meet back up at the roller coasters in a bit. Tre and Cloe headed to the ferris wheel with some cotton candy Tre had bought. They got on the wheel and steadily went to the top, where they stopped. This is so romantic, like as if it's all a dream or something, Cloe thought. She pinched her arm just in case (even though she knew it wasn't).

"What are you doing?" Tre asked.

"Making sure this isn't a dream," Cloe replied, laughing.

"Nope, this is for real." Tre put his arm around her. "And so is this," he said softly, leaning towards her for a kiss. She took it. Cloe sighed quietly as he pulled his tender lips away from hers after making out for a few seconds. He was a really good kisser. She leaned her head back and looked up at the fluffy pink clouds in the sky. Tre leaned his head on her shoulder.

"So we're going out now then?" he asked.

"It's only our first date!" Cloe exclaimed. "Well, I dunno..." she added more serenely.

"Sorry, I guess I was taking it too fast," he said, remembering what happened with Taylor.

"No, not really," Cloe replied. "I've had guys ask me worse on the first date."

"What?"

"You know, asking to sleep over etcetera..."

"Ah, I see."

"But you're a really nice guy. You're funny and smart, and you know how to handle girls like me."

"I do?"

"Yeah, you're real gentle and romantic when you're alone with me, even though when you're with your friends you tend to get all wired up. But I like that." Nice guys finish last, when you run out of gas, your sympathies will get you left behind... Tre thought. Was this true? Would he get left in the dust? Nah, couldn't be- he was rather aggressive sometimes and would be able to find his way. He could wrap Cloe around his finger if he used the right tactics.

Their seat finally came to the end of the wheel, and they exited off the ramp, heading towards the roller coasters. They were holding hands. Billie spotted the two in the crowd and told Mike and Anastasia to catch up. Tre and Cloe were holding hands?! Wow, Tre must have kissed her or something. When they caught up to the two Cloe let go of Tre's hand, embarrassed. She had wanted to keep that a secret.

"Yo, ssssup in da hood?" Billie said, imitating a rapper.

"Hey. We went on the ferris wheel," Tre said, raising his eyebrows up and down.

"Oh you naughty little devil," Billie said, and turned to Cloe. "What did he do to you?!" he exclaimed sarcastically.

"Nothing," she said. Billie could tell she was lying, but decided to let it go.

"Let's go play some games at the stalls," Tre said. Tre led the group to the shoot-the-star game. He paid the clerk, grabbed the gun and fired away. Afterwards, the clerk examined it. Tre had cut out the star with the bullets perfectly! He got an enormous pink Care Bear, and handed it to Cloe.

"All your's, babe," he said.

"Really? Thank you so much! That was awesome."

"You're welcome."

They spent some time playing games at the stalls, then headed towards the roller coasters with a bunch of stuffies and funky hats in their hands (and on their heads). Cloe's Care Bear was way too big to even fit in the seats by itself, so she left it with the ride attendant along with all their other stuffies and hats and they clambered on. Cloe sat next to Tre, and Billie and Adie, Mike and Anastasia were in the cars in front of them. "You scared?" Tre asked.

"Nope, excited."

"Well I'm here if you need to hold on to me." Aww, he's such a sweetie, Cloe thought, and smiled. The ride went into gear, and they started up the track.
When they were at the top, Tre raised his hands in the air, and they shot down like a rocket. "WOOOOOO-HOOOOOO!" Tre screamed, the wind whipping past his face. Cloe was laughing.

"Damn, this coaster messed up my fo-mo!" Tre said as they went up another hill, feeling his hair and trying to stick his faux-mohawk back up.

"It still looks okay," Cloe said truthfully.

"You sure? I wanna look my best for you." Cloe laughed.

"Yep." She really liked him. The butterflies in her stomach were going crazy.
