Can You Still Love Me If You Can't See Me Anymore?, chapter 13
I packed my little bag the next morning. Befre I left the hospital, I went to Billie's room. "I'm leaving now," I said shortly, so to avoid myself crying. He looked up upset.
"I'll miss you," he said.
"You have the rest of them, you don't need me," I said close to tears but smiled to try and stop it.
"Don't leave me," he said.
"I have to, I'm sorry," I said.
"I guess I'll see you around then," he said.
"Yeah," I croaked. As I started to leave he ran up behind me to kiss me again. I didn't want to let go, I could've stayed there forever, I pulled away. "Leg's better then," I laughed.
"Yeah," he smiled.
"Bye." I said walking slowly away. I looked behind to see him in the corridor. I couldn't turn around, already he seemed the other side of the world to me. Mike, Tre, Lianne and Vikki said bye to me on the way out. I got in the car, I saw him looking out of the window. I waved and he waved as I drifted off. I was silent the whole jourey home, it was back to the usual final week of the summer holidays, it felt weird. Already Sammy was back to his normal self, I didn't kind, in fact I couldn't care less. I noticed there was something in my pocket. I took it out, it was the remainder of the poison ivy from a few nights ago. I looked at it for a second.
"We're home," my mom said. I got out of the car and looked around. Same old street, I thought to myself as I tipped the rest of the liquid into the grass and went inside.
"I'll miss you," he said.
