Can You Still Love Me If You Can't See Me Anymore?, chapter 8
I smiled at the little bottle that I took out of my pocket. It was about the size of a vodka glass and had a clear-greenish liquid in it. I was getting ready with the rest of the girls, Lianne knew I was up to something but I didn't tell her what no matter how much she begged me.
"You'll see." I said.
"Here Roxie, this is my best perfume." I said , I could hardly contain myself as I sprayed the liquid on the back of her neck then all over her arms. "Thanks Laura." she smiled, then hugged me. If she wasn't such a bitch I'd say she was quite sweet. I could almost taste the sweet taste of revenge in my mouth, then remembered that I had had a chocolate von-doo that evening.
We went out of the shower rooms and headed over to the little bui;ding by the swimming pool where Billie, Mike and Tre were waiting for us. Mike was surprised to see me with a smile on my face when Roxie went up to Billie to link arms with him.
"What are you so happy about?" He asked.
"Oh, let's just say revenge is sweet." I said with an enigmatic smile on my face. He looked at me puzzled. Tre knew exactly what I was talking about when I took out the little bottle and showed Mike.
"What is it?" He asked, Lianne came running over when she saw me take out the little bottle.
"Can you tell me now?" she pleaded.
"Poison ivy." I said quietly and bluntly.
"You didn't." Mike said speechlessly.
"Oh yeah." I said.
"Oh my God I can't wait to see the look on her face." Tre began.
I raised my eyebrow and smiled and walked on ahead to talk to Vikki so I didn't raise suspicion. Hilary had kept an annoyingly close eye on me.
"Looking good Laura." Vikki said.
"Ya, I mean you look good without those combat trousers." Hilary added.
"Aww you say the nicest things Hilary." I said with a hint of sarcasm. Hilary gave me a false smile and a false laugh.
"Awww you two look so nice together." I said winking at Roxie who laughed then gave me a
"Better than you" look. Billie tried to smile at me but I gave him a dirty look then went to talk to Vikki again.
Tre caught up wiith me and started to pretend to itch his neck.
"Hey is it me or are there a few mosquitos about?" He said. I could hardly contain myself as Roxie then slowly started to itch her neck and say absent mindedly
"Yeah there must be a few." I just couldn't help myself and let out a little giggle. Roxie looked up at me, I paused then smiled at her, she smiled back.
When we got there Tre immediately ran over to another group of girls and Roxie started ordering Billie around.
"I want punch, can you go get me some?" she said, smiling angelically. Mike and Lianne were in the corner ,just them so I thought I'd leave well alone and Vikki was looking around slightly paranoid.
"What is it?" I asked.
"The promise," she said looking around even more, I saw her look at a guy. He had soft brown eyes and he was quite tall with slightly sallow skin and hair that covered his eyes slightly.
"I like him okay?," Vikki said through gritted teeth
"But I don't want to tell everyone about it."
"Hey you might not pull him." I said. Vikki looked at me.
"Just don't bother telling them anything, then they can't accuse you of not telling them anything, just say you forgot, now go get in there girl." I said smiling. She smiled too.
I looked around for a while, Tre was chatting some girls up; Mike and Lianne were still toghether and it wasn't fair on Vikki if I went to ruin her private time. Hilary was hanging around with Roxie like there was no tomorrow and Billie was still serving his "master" by getting her punch, she tried to nuzzle him even more. I was bored easily so I went outsie to the pool, taking some ounch with me. I had already had quite a few glasses so I wasn't exactly sobre.
I went outsde and looked around and thpught about Roxie which brought a smile to my face. Then I heard someone come out. I sat down then looked round, it was Billie.
I turned around and pretended not to see him.
"Will you stop ignoring me." he said.
"Why should I you haven't been the nicest person to me lately have you?" I replied not even looking at him in the eye.
"Look it didn't mean anything, I didn't know she would kiss me, God I didn't even know she liked me." He said. I raised my eyebrow at him
"Well you looked like you were having fun. You know what I don't even know why I'm even talking to you, you're not worth my time." I said walking away.
"Look, I don't even like her, it was as much of a shock to me as it was to you, I was caught in the heat in the heat of the moment."
"Yep, now that you've got that out of your system you can leave me alone now." I said , still walking away.
"No I can't!" He said running after me, grabbing my wrist.
"Get off!" I said shaking him off , then I tripped over, damn punch. He kneeled down next to me as I got up.
"I like you, not her." he said. For the first time that night I looked at him in the eye, I felt weak in the knees. He leaned in close to me, as I did with him, we came close, close enough to kiss but there was a loud shout which rung in my ears.
"YOU BITCH!" It was Roxie and Hilary , Roxie flounced inside again, probably crying.
"Shit." I said under my breath. Was she going to tell everyone? Well I hadn't done anything worng so why should I care?, but I just know that she'll exagerrate, what would happen?, who would take who's side?
"Forget her." Billie said. That was far from what was going to happen.
