Can You Still Love Me If You Can't See Me Anymore?, chapter 9
I ran inside, I don't know why I was going to apologize to Roxie. When I went inside I saw her with Hilary who was giving me a big, fat evil eye. Lianne, Tré and some of the other girls Tré was with came running over to me.
"What happened?" Tré asked.
"Look he came out to apologize and we almost kissed," I said, frustrated.
"That's not what she's been saying." said one of the other girls who were with Tré, her name was Evelyn.
"What has she been saying?" I asked.
"Oh the typical, 'little slut,' but she said you were making out with him," Mike said.
"She's lying!" I protested.
"It's okay! We're on your side!" Lianne said.
Just then Billie came in. Roxie went marching over to him and slapped him.
"IT'S OVER!" she yelled.
We sniggered as she started itching her arms even more.
"ARRRGH WHAT'S WITH MY ARMS AND NECK?!" she yelled right in Hilary's face as Hilary dabbed her arms with cotton wool.
"Oh God, here she comes," I moaned.
"YOU THINK YOU'VE WON, YOU IMMATURE BITCH!" she yelled.
"Won, I haven't won anything, I wasn't playing games."
"DON'T PLAY DUMB, WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY ARMS AND FACE?!" she said, taking off a hat she'd borrowed to cover her face. Tré sniggered and her saw her red puffy face in fits of tears.
"You were obviously allergic to it," I smiled.
"YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY? Yeah well you dress like a boy! What are you, a drag king?" Hilary said.
"Yeah well at least I know who I am and where I stand at least I'm proud to be a fucking drag king!" I retaliated. "And do you know what Hilary? This has nothing to do with you so stop sucking up to Roxie!" I added; Hilary stepped back.
"This isn't over!" Roxie said, close to crying again, but stopped herself by gritting her teeth. She walked out, Hilary trying to catch up with her.
"So, anyone still her friend?" I asked sarcastically.
"Never was," Evelyn laughed.
"Yeah," everyone else said.
"I was," Lianne said. Everyone looked at her.
"Don't know why," she finished.
"Where's Vikki?" Billie asked. Lianne pointed as Vikki came over, she held her thumbs up at me. I smiled.
"What?" Lianne asked.
"Can't tell you, promised Vikki," I said.
"Oh yeah that stupid promise thing that Roxie asked you to do," Tre said.
"Fuck that," Vikki snorted, "where is Roxie anyway?"
Everyone stopped and looked at one another.
"Well while you were over there having fun with your pretty boy, there were a few fireworks," I said.
"Just tell me what happened," Vikki said.
"Well what happened, was that Billie went to say sorry to Laura then they almost kissed then Roxie got mad so she went back," Tre said really quickly.
"Oh no," Vikki said. Everyone looked at her. "Never mind." she finished. With that, we all giggled.
"Oh yeah and the so-called 'perfume' made her face all puffy and itchy," Mike added.
"It was poison ivy," I said bluntly. Vikki laughed.
"I would've loved to have seen the look on her face," she said.
"I'm bored of talking about Roxie, let's just have fun!" Mike said.
"Yeah I'm up for that," I said.
"Great, another slow dance," Tre said.
"I like slow dances, they're so romantic," Evelyn said.
"Well let's get dancing,'" Tre said.
I smiled suggestively at Billie and he took my hand and danced with me.
"So you gonna get me some punch," I laughed.
"Ugh don't I never thought I'd get rid of her," I laughed as he kissed my nose and my neck.
"That's the best thing that's come out of your mouth all day." I laughed again; I loved every moment of the dance and went to bed peacefully, without saying a word to my mom.
"What happened?" Tré asked.
