Best Thing In Town, chapter 1

Jenny sat at home and listened to music. She likes different music, but also she was a punk and first of all she liked punk-rock music. She was listening to The Ramones. Rrring! Her phone rang, it was her friend Mandy.

phone conversation

"Hi, what are you doing now?" Mandy asked
"Nothing..." Jenny said
"Well, you're going to love me! I have two invitations on Green Day's secret party."
"Oh my God... Where did you get them?"
"My father works in their record studio! Actually they invited my father, but he can't come and he gave the invitations to me. That's so cool."
"Yeah..." Jenny smiled
"So... I'll come at five, ok?" Mandy said.
"Definitely!!!"
"Well... Bye!"

end of the phone conversation

Jenny couldn't believe it. She was going to go to a Green Day party! She knew about this band, but they weren't so famous and were known only in California.
She went into the bathroom and began to put on her make up. When she was done she looked at her watch. It was 4.40 pm!!!
In 20 minutes she heard someone knocking on the door. She opened it. It was Mandy. She was just as nervous as Jenny was.
The girls started getting ready: they put on their best pair of jeans and their favorite tops; they looked beautiful. Jenny also put on her favorite student belt.
Mandy and Jenny has been on parties like that. I mean secret parties. So Jenny and Mandy already felt as a part of this confidential star community.
The girls were 17 years old, but they are not party-girls and sweet-dolls. They are punks and went only on punk parties. But they also liked to go to star-parties. They believe if the life gave them such chances, it's necessary to use them on full!
Jenny knew that guys from Green Day were the same age as them. But the girls weren't interested in them; they were going to the party to have a good time and no more.
So, Jenny already sat in Mandy's car. The drive was not long, 'cause the club where the party will be wasn't far from Jenny's home. Behind the next turn Mandy had seen club doors. The girls were surprised because they didn't see any cars near the club.
Mandy parked on the other side from club. There was a good place park. The girls went around the club and got straight to the doors.
Suddenly the way was blocked by a terrible security guard. Mandy showed him the two invitations. The security guard began to look over the paper, hoping to recognize that they were false, but then he smiled to the girls and said,
"Ms. Jason! What an honor! How is your father?"
"He's alright, thanks!"
"And who is it?"
"This is my friend, Ms. Ryan."
"Ms. Ryan, I'll try to remember that."
The security guard craftily smiled to Jenny and opened the doors.
The girls thought that the club would be crammed with people, but it was empty. Only two old women sat at the little table in the back corner and an adult man was going through the club moving the dynamics.
