Best Thing In Town, chapter 2
Mandy and Jenny continued to stand near the doors. They thought that there won't be a party, but suddenly Jenny peeped, and Mandy has looked at her and then looked at the place where Jenny looked and nearly don't began to shout. On the stage there were drums and near them stood a guy with dark hair puffing up in all sides. He didn't notice the girls because he was adjusting his guitar.
Girls have good manners, and they can't run for autographs. Soon, to the guy who was Billie Joe -Green Day's vocalist- came a young guy with drum-type sticks. Girls saw the drummer; Tre Cool pushing Billie and nodding on Jenny and Mandy. Mandy reddened, and Jenny smiled in reply to Tre's smile. Girls sat at a table near the stage. They ordered coca-cola. The waiter came to Mandy and began whispering in her ear. Suddenly Mandy smiled and said,
"I got to go. It's my friend."
"Oh, Ok... Go..." replied Jenny.
"Let the show begin!" said Billie Joe and winked at the young girl sitting in the club.
Jenny felt special.
Mandy came soon. She looked weird. No one can understand what she engaged in the VIP room with the waiter, but Mandy looked happy. Mandy joined Jenny.
But then she rose from her chair and asked Jenny to come with her.
'Where are we going???" wondered Jenny.
"Let's go on stage! That nice drummer burns from impatience," Mandy said, grinning.
Jenny looks at Tre. He caught her sight and took out his tongue. He started obviously tempting Jenny. She began to laugh, and it was loud for an empty hall. Well, almost empty. Jenny has erected eyes to a ceiling and unwillingly risen from a chair. Girls go up on a stage and look over the hall. Some people came to the club. Girls simply sat back to the doors and couldn't see people who came in. Jenny cheered up and began to dance to the songs. Girls were singing the bands songs. When Jenny was turned away from the public to look at Tre, Billie Joe put a microphone near her. When Billie began to sing Jenny began too. And suddenly Billie stopped singing and Jenny sang alone, although she didn't realize that. Guys from other bands who sat in the hall began to whistle and clap. They were delight surprised. Now Jenny realized that she sang alone, but she didn't stop and began to sing a little louder. She felt like a star.
Jenny's voice was good and nice. When the song ended everyone began to clap, whistle and shout.
"Bravo!!!"
"Well done!!"
"One more!!!"
Jenny smiled. She turned to face the band. She was happy. Jenny closed her eyes and felt someone's warm hand on her shoulder.
It was Tre. He takes Jen's hand and takes it up. Then Billie Joe comes and stands near Jen. He clapped her shoulder and told,
"You sound good! Don't you thinking about career of singer?"
"Yeah... I was thinking about it!" Jenny told enthusiastically. Then she heard someone's soft voice.
"It's so hot in here, isn't it?"
It was Tre's whisper. He breathes on Jenny's ear. Jenny didn't understand what to do. She simply followed Tre. Jen understood why Tre goes in a VIP room. Tre passed Jenny to go first and then he came into room. Then he closed the door.
