Jinx, chapter 2

When Jimmy Eats World was over

We had gotten in the front row of the floor, so they would be right in front of us. We had been waiting for a long time, too, so they should be out soon. Eva and I kept staring, waiting for them to come out, when finally, Tre walked out and ran to the drums. Then Mike and Billie ran out in different directions, and although Jason came on, we didn't notice because our eyes were on Billie and Tre. I smiled at Eva and started yelling.

"Whooooo!" My dad yelled. I laughed a bit as Billie smiled. I kept
Staring at him, waiting for something big. Then, moments later, Billie looked back at his band mates and Mike started American Idiot, and Tre and Billie followed along. The mosh pit started quickly, and Eva and I were pressed against the bars in the front, but we were still screaming and smiling as all of this was going on. Then we started singing along loudly when Billie started.

"Don't wanna be an American idiot, Don't want a nation under the new mania!" We all sang as fireworks flew above our heads. Billie and Mike'ssweat was falling onto us like rain, but it was the most awesome feeling of rain that you could ever imagine. I closed my eyes at it was falling down on me, and about 3 minutes later, with my eyes still closed, I felt a hand brush across my hands that were in the air, so I opened my eyes to see Billie kneeled down right in front of me. Eva looked at me, but saw that I wouldn't look away, so she looked at him, too. He was singing Dearly Beloved right in front of us! I felt as if I died today; I would be the happiest girl alive. Then, Billie, winked at us and got up, running back to center stage where Mike played his solo, and the song went on.

After the 5 hour concert

I was so exhuausted. I felt like I was going to faint. But I was still thinking about the time when Billie winked at us. As I looked over at Eva, I could see that she was very anxious to meet Tre, and I was, too, exept with Billie. My dad was about 60 feet away from us. I turned to Eva, smiling. She smiled back.

"Was that not the gnarliest concert you've ever been to?!" I asked.

"And it's not even over yet for us. I'm telling you, if I don't see Tre in the next 5 minutes, I'm gonna punch someone." She said. I laughed as my dad came over to us with a frown on his face.

"What's up?" I asked.

"Uh, we kinda forgot the passes." He answered as Eva and I stared at him as if he was joking. I looked at Eva and her eyes started to water, as mine did. Then, she screamed out, "Are you fucking kidding me!?!" I closed my teeth tight as my heart sank and I covered my face with my hands.

"No, this can't be happening. No wait, why do you think the dude on the radio took my information?" I said staring at Eva, and her eyes brightened up. I ran over to the backstage door where the bouncer stood and said, "Sir?"
"Yes?" He answered.
"Is there a way that we can get in without our backstage passes? Do you have the information for the people that won the passes?"
"Yes we do. Did you forget yours?"
"Yeah. Dad, tell him everything. It's under my name."

5 minutes later

"Yes sir, it's all right," the bouncer said, and we went inside.

"You should see them once you walk around the corner to your right a bit. They are resting right now, but it'll be ok." Eva and I ran in and poked our heads around the corner to the right to see Billie with his hands behind his head, Tre leaning against the wall drinking coffee, and Mike was taking his belt off. I looked at Eva and both of our eyebrows raised as we moved back and walked around the corner casually, as if nothing were wrong. About 10 feet from where we started, I tripped over my own feet, but Eva caught me, thankfully, before anyone saw me. When we got close enough, being right beside me, Eva said, "Hey," and pushed me forward, turning her head. They all looked over to me and I smiled a bit.

"Hey I remember you. The girls I knelt next to on Dearly Beloved, right?" Billie asked,

"Yeah," I replied.

"Wow, must be your lucky day, huh?" He said as he walked over to us. The other two just stared.

"I'm Billie, obviously." He said, holding out his hand. I looked at it then back up at him and shook it, the Eva apearred from behind and did also. Then my dad came from around the corner and Billie noticed.

"Is that your boyfriend?" He asked.

"No, that's my dad." I said as Eva started cracking up. "Hey what's up?" Billie asked my dad.

"Nothing much. Just lettin' the girls meet their idols... And dream husbands," my dad answered.

"Dad! Ugh, that's not true!" I lied. Eva kind of covered her face from blushing when my dad said that. Then I pushed her over to Tre. "

Go," I told her.

"Ha, nah, I'm not just gonna sit here and wait for you to come over." Tre said.

"Nice to meet ya!" Eva laughed and stood next to him. "So, what are your names?" Mike asked. "

I'm Dani," I said.
"Yeah, and I'm Eva," she said. My dad and Billie were too busy talking, so they didn't hear.
"Billie!" Mike yelled.
"Huh?" Billie asked.
"It's Dani and Eva." Mike explained.
"And my dad's name is Stephen." I said.
"Call me Steve," my dad said.
"Ok, cool, cool. So what do you want to see?" Mike said.
"The bedroom," I whispered to Eva and we both started laughing.
"How about we just sit around and talk... For now..." We laughed some more as I said that.
"Yeah, how long do we get to stay?" Eva asked.
"As long as we want you to stay. Who knows, you might end up spending the night." Tre answered.
"Ok, well there are three of you and three of us, so pick one of us to... Chat," Billie said. My dad walked over to Mike and they started talking, and Eva was already by Tre, so they started talking, and so I ended up with Billie. He walked over to me and stared at me. I smiled a little and stared into his eyes. Ahh, deep greeny goodness I must say... But then out of no where he put his arm behind my back and walked me to the chairs that were next to each other, and he sat down and so did I. Then he leaned over the chair and starred into my eyes, and I did the same. Could there be some sort of connection between us? I mean I know he's married, but why is he acting this way? I smiled more and looked over at Eva who was laughing. I guess Tre was telling jokes. I looked back over at Billie and he finally said something.
"So... I'm guessing you're single?"
"Yeah, I am."
"Ah, I see. How'd you win the passes?"
"On the radio station. I was very surprised."
"I bet."
"Where are Adrienne, Joey and Jakob?"
"Back at home for now."
"Do you miss them?"
"I'm sure they miss me more than I miss them."
"Oh... "
Then, there was a pause between our conversation, and he asked.
"Who do you like best out of the band?"
I looked back into his deep eyes and pause again for a moment.
"You."
"Why?"
I put my arm on the armrest on the chair and held my head in my hand, and stared back at him.
"Because of your talents... Playing guitar and singing... And I love your accent... It's so--"
"Hey, guys! What are you talking about?!" Tre said rather loudly which scared us.
"Oh, nothing," I answered. I looked over at Eva who was smiling, and then I got up and walked over to her.
"Where are you going?" Billie asked.
"We'll be right back!" I said. Then I grabbed Eva's arm and took her around the corner.
"Billie is flirting with me!"
"Tre is acting weird, too... "
"But, I thought Billie was married."
"Yeah... I wonder why he's doing it."
"What if we get kisses?!"
"Oh, my god, Dani."
"Well, you never know at this point."
"Yeah, maybe they're drunk."
"Well, it's cool."
"Ha ha, why don't you ask for a tour, maybe you'll end up in the bedroom."
"Eva! You bad girl!"
We both laughed and walked back around the corner next to Billie and Tre.
