Rodeo Rocker, chapter 2
“Cody? I don’t know if you can hear me but the guys are here,� her aunts voice drifted into her mind as pain shot through her body, her eyes flickered, taking in the white walls of the hospital
“Jake! Quick! She’s coming around! The fair haired lady called out of the room where she sat next to the bed her niece lay in.
Jake walked in, slowly followed by two of his friends, Tre & Mike “Typical, trust Cody to come around when she hears the guys are here!� he Laughed, helping his cousin up against her pillow, “seriously though cus, ya gave us a scare with that fall, impressive, but scary.�
Her head was swimming in a haze but she managed to smile, “well I think I’ve done pretty well, I’ve been bronc riding how long? About 8years ‘n’ I’ve only been in hospital twice, anyone else think that’s real good?� she laughed, then winced “ OW! What actually happened? I can remember him rearing then I think I blacked out,� she asked, looking around the faces surrounding her, all with looks of concern.
“well, the doctor says that you’ve broken three ribs, he told us you might have concussion but if you can remember that then maybe not,� her aunt smiled “GOOD GOD TRE! Don’t hug her so tight!� her aunt cried as the hyperactive drummer rushed over, grabbing Cody in a huge bear hug.
“Yeah mate, that’s my job.� Jake put in punching his friends arm “or Mikes.� he added as Cody hugged her boyfriend, noticing her cast on her arm she looked at the lady next to her “ Aunt Maddie? I’m guessing, purely cause o’ the cast, that I’ve broken my arm?� she asked as Billie Joe walked in with Adrienne.
“Hey Girly! What’ve ya been doin’ now? Sorry we’re a bit late� He sat down next to his friends, giving Cody a hug “Honestly, this is why only guys should ride broncs…. We’re harder to break!� he joked as Cody poked her tongue out at him, she knew how easy her guy friends were to break, even if they wouldn’t admit it themselves
“Sexist!� she cried, laughing, “so that’s why I always beet you at mercy is it? Any who, when can I come home?�
Her cousin looked at her, he had a glint in his eye even though he kept a straight face “well….the doctor said you could come home as soon as you woke up….but…well…we thought you might like it better here.� he joked, moving back as she attempted to hit him with her good arm
“tch… as if I’m staying here, ya know I hate hospitals.� She chided him.
2 hours later
{jeez, it’s good to be home} Cody thought to herself as the wind blew her blonde hair around, she walked to the front door, blocking out the looks the chavs from across the road were giving her.
“Hey! What happened to you, ya Mosher?� they called to her, noticing the bandage around her waist & arm.
“Hey! Why don’t ya mind yer own business?� Jake retaliated for his cousin “Isn’t it past your bed time anyway?� he added as the chavs swore at them.
Cody laughed, “I don’t know about them but I’m goin’ to bed, I’m shattered� she yawned, walking up the stairs to her room, falling onto the bed, gazing up at the poster of her friends band ‘Green Day’
