“Phew! I’m glad that weeks over,� Sarah laughed as they rode through the forest after school on Friday.

Cody was vaguely aware of her door being opened & was just about to open her eyes when something heavy jumped on her, licking her & making her face very wet “EURGH! That’s sooo gross, Jake, get Jeop off me!� she cried as her cousin pulled the dog off the bed.

“Happy birthday sweetie,� her aunt greeted her as she walked down the stairs into the kitchen,

That afternoon
Cody sat on her front lawn with her friends, wearing her new skirt & Mike’s shirt.
“So, d’ya have a good ride?� Jake asked as he came out with sodas for the nine friends.

The sound of Adie’s battered SUV came around the corner as Mike looked up, kissing the top of Cody’s head as she rested against him.
“Sorry took so long,� Adie called over, “They wanted ID ‘n’ everything� she laughed as she & Billie Joe brought over cans of beer & bottles of vodka� Oh’ course Billie got some joints for ya,� she added, sitting down next to Billie Joe to watch the sunset.
“Ah, nice one Bille Joe,� Jake grinned, “Guys, even if y’ don’t wanna smoke have a drink,� as he rolled two drinks to Danny & Sarah.

They didn’t notice their friends wander to the off-licence as they dosed on the lawn. As they lay together, the lodger arrived in a taxi, too drunk to drive. “Cody you lil slut� he shouted, his words slurring together as he grabbed her arm, dragging her off Mike “I told y’ bout OUR rules!� he bawled, raising his fist.
