The Singer's Dilemma, chapter 1

"Nicole! I'm leaving!"
"Ok bye mom!" Nicole was Kelsey's daughter. Also Billie Joe Armstrong's.

*Flashback (14 years into the past)*

"Billie Joe?" asked Kelsey as softly as she could. He looked up. "Yeah?" She hesitated. "I-uh- I'm really sorry Billie Joe I know your life is really complicated right now but I'm pregnant." He looked more interested now. Kelsey held her breath. She was scared of what he would say. Most likely something about how his career would be ruined. She knew he would be mad. "GREAT! Just great! My career just went down the drain." Kelsey went over to comfort him. She didn't know what to say so she put her hand on his shoulder. He pushed her away forcefully. So forcefully she hit the wall. She sobbed. "Fine I can see you'll do fine without me. Have a nice life." And with that she walked away.

*Present*
*Kelsey's POV*

After I left the house and was at the airport, excitement filled me. I couldn't wait to see Billie Joe's face. I knew that he would remember me. I'd known it would hurt him like he hurt me.

*On the Plane*
*still in Kelsey's POV*

'I hate planes' thought Kelsey as the plane began to lift off the ground. The flight attendant came around with food and drinks. I took a water and started chugging it. Damn why was I so nervous? I even started thinking about ditching the whole idea and forgetting about Billie Joe. But I wasn't going to give up... Was I?

*After the Plane Landed*
*out of Kelsey's POV*

Kelsey stepped out of the plane and looked around the airport. It was nice but pretty plain and mostly white. As she walked toward the exit she saw a mother holding her baby while on her cell phone. She walked out the door and hailed a cab. "Hi... Can you take me to the nearest hotel?" she asked the taxi driver. "Sure" he said in a squeaky voice. The taxi smelled badly of cigarette smoke. Kelsey looked out the window and wondered what the next day held. The taxi driver broke her daze by saying "$7. 50 lady " She gave him a ten, said "keep the change" and walked into the hotel. It was much more colorful then the airport had been. Red walls, white furniture, and a gold check-in desk. She was lucky because they only had 2 more rooms left in the entire hotel.

Her hotel room was beautiful. Kelsey smiled to herself. These few days were going to be great. She decided that she was going to go straight to sleep. As she laid in her bed all she could think about was the next day...what would happen?
