The Singer's Dilemma, chapter 2
*the next morning*
"I hate the sun," Kelsey muttered when she woke up with the sun beaming down on her. She looked at the clock. It read 1:30 pm. "Shit" she said to herself. She pulled the covers off of her and decided she would take a quick shower.
By the time Kelsey got out of the shower it was 2:00 pm. "Concert is at 6:00 tonight I have 4 hours... I guess I'll go to the restaurant down the street that I noticed while I was in the taxi..." She grabbed her purse and walked out the door.
She walked into the restaurant which turned out to be Golden Corral. 'Hmm I wonder how the food is' she thought. After she had finished and paid the bill, she walked out the door. It was pretty warm outside. She looked across the street and saw someone who looked like Billie Joe. Exactly like him. He looked over and noticed her too. 'Holy shit! ' Kelsey thought. 'That is him. ' Then she smiled to herself. The look on his face was priceless. She could only imagine what it would look like at the concert.
*4:30 pm*
Kelsey looked through her drawers again and again. She wanted to have on the perfect outfit. Finally she picked out a black sweatshirt, a pair of jeans and her Converse. She applied her eyeliner and was ready to go. She didn't think she would be as nervous as she was. "Breath Kelsey. Breath." she said to herself.
*The Concert*
The only thing Kelsey could hear was the crowd screaming. Kelsey just stood there though. Not screaming not jumping up and down. Finally Billie Joe, Mike and Tre came out. Mike saw Kelsey first. By the look on his face he knew nothing good would come out of this. Then Billie Joe looked down. His face was drained of color and he gave Tre an 'Oh shit' kind of look. 'So he does recognize me,' Kelsey thought and smiled. Billie Joe shrugged it off and went on with the concert. But every once in a while Kelsey could see him staring at her.
*After the concert*
Kelsey was getting ready to leave. She was very pleased with herself. But as soon as she turned around someone tapped her on the shoulder. She turned around. It was Billie Joe! 'Shit' she thought. 'I wanted to see him, not talk to him! ' He cleared his throat. "Why did you come here tonight Kelsey?" She didn't know what to say. "Um truthfully?" He nodded. "Well I wanted to make sure you didn't forget me..." He looked at her like she was stupid. "You thought I would forget you Kelsey?" She was confused. "Yeah I did. I mean, really Billie Joe you have a beautiful wife and two adorable kids." There was a long awkward silence. So awkward Kelsey turned around and tried to leave. Before she could Billie Joe took her hand. "What?" she asked. "I just want to tell you that I never forgot you." He looked down. "After all" Billie Joe began "You can never forget someone you love."
