Just another high school story., chapter 1
I sighed, adjusting my messenger bag in a more comfortable position on my shoulder. Brushing my brown hair away from my navy eyes, I sighed, wishing the bus would hurry up. It was raining heavily still like it had been for the past two days and the temperature had dropped so it was quite cold standing on the corner of my street. I rubbed my shoulder and contemplated just going home and curling up under my nice comforter that was probably still warm from my body, but I couldn't miss anymore days of school or else I'd be suspended and flunked for my senior year.
The bus finally turned the corner and I sighed again, pulling the hood of my sweatshirt off of my head as it came to a stop in front of me. The bus driver was glaring as I climbed the stairs slowly and moved even slower down the aisle to the back. I heard her slam the sliding doors shut and the bus started moving even before I flopped on the seat next to one of my best friends.
"Morning," he grumbled sleepily.
"Yeah, ok." I replied leaning against him. He shifted slightly and put an arm around my shoulder. My eyes closed as the bus bumped along over curbs. The rain lashed ruthlessly against the buses windows.
"It's really coming down out there." He said and I opened my eyes and looked at him. He was gazing out the window, breathing slowly. I watched it, almost enchanted, as it curled from his nose white from the cold and lacing the window; fading slightly till he breathed again. I sat up and stretched as best I could in the seat.
"Yeah it is. God its freezing!" I said rubbing my arm as chills ran up my body in waves. He bit his thumb and turned to me as the bus stopped again. He pulled his hand away from his face and wrapped it around me again, pulling me into his chest. I grinned as the lights flashed on and three more of our friends shuffled back towards us.
"Hey, Tor. Hey Billie Joe." One of the two guys said as he yawned and tossed himself into the seat. The second of the two sat right on top of him and wiggled around on his hip.
"Tre if you don't get the heck off of me, I'm gonna kill you!"
"Hey Mike. Tre just get off of him, will ya!" I said shoving him from across the aisle.
The bus driver yelled back to us.
"Tre, Mike, Tori. If you three don't knock it off I'll write your asses up so quick it's not even funny!" She twisted in her seat to look at us.
"Yes sir!" Said Tre jokingly. She glared most evilly and whipped back around, punching the gas and almost hitting another car.
I turned to Tre as he slid off of Mike.
"Tre, how many times has she written you up already?" I asked in a stern voice.
"Six, mother." He replied cockily.
"Yeah well, likely if you get writ up again you'll get suspended again. I think if you get suspended more than three times you get expelled and guess what bud. You get expelled, you don't graduate and uh I am so not waiting around for you for another year! I wanna go to college in this millennium!" I finished leaning back in my seat again. He opened his mouth to say something smart.
"Tre just shut up already!" Said Mike pulling his hat over his eyes and leaning against the window. Tre slumped back in his seat and pouted like a little kid. He looked at me and stuck out his tongue and I laughed quietly.
**AT SCHOOL
Lockers slammed shut as the late bell rang and people rushed to homeroom. Billie Joe, Me, Tre, Beth, Mike and Angela all still stood in the hallway. Mike rubbed his eyes wearily and put an arm around his girlfriend, Angela.
"Too friggin early. Is it time to go home yet?" He groaned shoving his face into Angie's shoulder. She shoved him gently and playfully but he still swaggered greatly ending up in Billie Joe's arms who promptly shoved him off to Tre who stepped aside and let him fall to the floor where he laid. We all laughed as Tre leaned down to help him up.
"Upsie daisy sweet cheeks." He cooed as Mike brushed his jeans off. A teacher had appeared at our laughter and told us off for not being in class.
"Ms. Penn." He said, talking to me.
"I believe that if your late once more to my homeroom, you would be late four times correct?" He asked smartly.
"Now correct me if I'm wrong, but that would result in a detention would it not?" I nodded and turned to the rest of the group.
"See you guys at lunch." My eyes caught Billie Joe's and I felt my stomach twinge with a guilty pleasure. I had had a crush on him since our freshmen year but him being my best friend had always prevented me from making any type of move. He smiled.
"Yeah see you then, Tori." He said grabbing Tre by the shoulders and shoving him along. He glanced back at me as I walked into homeroom and smiled again.
**Down the hall
"So why haven't you asked her yet?" Tre asked Billie Joe, sobering up slightly and shoving a hand in his pocket.
"I will, don't worry you're pretty little head off Cool."
Tre gasped and giggled in a girly voice and then said in a high pitched voice.
"Do you really thing I'm pretty, Billie Joe Armstrong?" He asked covering his mouth daintily.
"Yeah like an elephants ass!" he said sarcastically and Tre giggled again.
