Welcome To Paradise, chapter 3

It was the day of the wedding, and Rai could be found in the dressing room along with JoAnna, getting Danelle ready for her big day.
"Don't worry, you're going to be fine!" said Rai, for what seemed like the hundredth time.
"But what if I trip? Or I forget my vow? Or I faint? Or sneeze right before I say 'I do'?" said Danelle.
"Danelle, relax! You won't faint or trip or whatever the hell else you said. You'll be fine!" said a now annoyed JoAnna.
Danelle took a deep breath, then sighed. "Okay, you guys are right. It'll be fine."
"FINALLY!" yelled JoAnna as all three girls laughed.

"Billie, what do I do? I can't let this happen!" said Tre, while pacing back and forth in the men's bathroom.
"I don't know, man. I don't think you CAN do anything." said Billie, running his hands through his hair while sitting on the bathroom counter.
"How did I let this get this far? How come I couldn't just TELL her?!"
"Hey, it's not easy telling someone you love them. Shit, look at me and Rai. That took for-fuckin-ever! But listen, Tre. I think you just need to let this go. It's too late. Don't screw up her wedding day."
"I know, Bill. But... shit! I love her!"
The bathroom door was pushed open, as both men looked up to greet a tall, skinny man with familiar blue eyes.
"Hey, is everything okay?" asked a concerned Mike.
"Uh, yeah. We're okay." said Tre.
"Tre's in love with the bride." said Billie.
"BILLIE!" screamed Tre.
"Well, you are!" shrugged Billie.
"Oh! I fuckin KNEW it!" yelled Mike.
"You did?" asked Billie and Tre in unison.
"Yea! I'm not fuckin blind!"
"See! I knew it! I told you it was obvious, Tre!" said Billie proudly.
"Yea, whatever." muttered Tre.
"So what you gonna do buddy?" asked Mike.
"The only thing I CAN do. Tell her how I feel." Tre simply stated.
"Woah! Today? No way, man. I mean, okay you love her, but on her wedding day?" asked Mike.
"Well what the fuck else am I supposed to do?!" yelled Tre.
"Let it go! She loves this guy, and from what I hear, he loves her back. Don't drop this bomb on her today. I'm sure she's already a nervous wreck as it is." said Billie.
"I know, guys. But, you just don't understand! I can't just sit back and watch this happen." said Tre, who was now sitting on the counter next to Billie.
Billie reached over and put his arm around Tre. "I know it's hard, buddy. But you have to let her go."
"Yea, Tre, really. Billie Joe's right on this one. For once." said Mike, smuggly.
"Excuse you? For once?!" asked Billie.
"Did I studder?... Anyways, as hard as it is for you. I think Danelle's happiness is the most important thing right now. And you telling her you love her is just gonna put stress on her that she doesn't need right now."
"WHAT?!" yelled a voice from the door.
All three guys looked up to see their second guitarist with his mouth hanging open.
"Hey Jase!" said Billie, nonchalantly.
"You LOVE Danelle?" asked Jason.
"God fuckin dammit. Might as well tell the whole fuckin world." muttered Tre.
"Sure, I'll get right on that." smiled Billie.
"Oh shut up, Billie Joe." said Tre.
"So how long?" asked Jason, while pushing Billie over and jumping on the counter as well.
"I don't know, Jase." replied Tre.
"How do you NOT know? Did you just think of it like right now? Or has it been since last year? Or when you first met her?" asked Jason, while swinging his legs like an anxious three year old.
"I dunno. I guess like... five years? But, I just realized it last week." responded Tre.
"FIVE YEARS?!" yelled Jason, "HOLY SHIT!"
"Yea, no kidding." said Mike.
They heard knocking on the door, as all four guys looked up.
"Umm... BJ? You in there? The ceremony's about to start." said Rai.
"Uh yea! Okay! Thanks, babe! I'm just umm... just finishing peeing with the guys!" yelled Billie.
Rai gave a puzzled, yet disturbed look. "Um... okay. Just make sure you guys wash your hands." replied Rai as she walked away.
"Nice cover, Billie." said Mike, while rolling his eyes.
"What? I didn't know what else to say!" said Billie, defensively.
"How about fixing your make-up?" suggested Jason.
Billie turned around, facing the mirror, "What? Is it messed up?"
"It's fine Beej. We should get going." said Mike.
"Yea, okay." said Billie Joe, as him, Jason, and Tre jumped off the counter.
Mike put an arm around Tre as they exited the bathroom.
"Hey Tre, no sulking. Wedding crashers rule number 13." laughed Mike.
Tre gave a half-hearted smile.

Twenty minutes later, all four were seated in the pews of the chapel in Sin City, waiting for the ceremony to begin. Rai sat next to Billie, then came Tre, Jason, Mike, then JoAnna. The music started to play, as all the heads turned around to see Danelle walk down the aisle, looking beautiful in her green dress. Rai and JoAnna, already feeling tears sting at their eyes, smiled and wiped them away, which caused Mike and Jason to snort and roll their eyes.
Silence overwhelmed the room, as the minister began to speak, "Marriage. Marriage is what brings us together... today." He began.

***

It was about ten minutes into the ceremony, when Mike felt a hand subtly rest on his forearm. He glanced to his left, meeting JoAnna's gaze. He furrowed his brow in confusion as she leaned forward towards him and said, barely above a whisper, "So how long has your friend been in love with Danelle?"
He stared at her, completely apalled by the question.
"What did you say?" He finally asked.
"Oh come the fuck on! It's so obvious. Just look at him." she replied while gesturing to Tre.
Mike leaned forward, looking at Tre. Then leaned back against his seat.
"He looks normal to me." Mike said.
JoAnna rolled her eyes, then smirked.
"My name's Mike, by the way. I don't think we've formally met." he said sincerely, extending his hand.
"JoAnna." she said while taking his hand.
"Sh!" came a voice from down the pew. The pair looked up and met Rai's evil glare.
The trio's conversation came to a close, when the minister said, "And now if anyone here objects to these two joining in matrimony, speak now or forever hold your peace."
Billie, Jason, and Mike all looked at Tre, but sighed a breath of relief when the priest finished, "Now you may ki-"
"No! WAIT!" yelled Tre, abruptly.
All eight heads turned to Tre, including the minister.
"I'm sorry guys, I can't let her do this without her knowing the truth." said Tre, looking at Billie, Jason, and Mike. The guys nodded, knowingly.
Tre ran up the aisle to Danelle, taking both of her hands in his.
"Danelle, I love you. I've loved you since the summer we've met. I thought I could bite my tongue and let you go on with this, but I... I just can't."
Danelle stared at Tre, her mouth slightly hanging open. She had no idea what to say. She looked at Jakob, unable to read his expression. Then as if he read her mind, Jakob lunged forward, landing a punch right on Tre's jaw.
"What the fuck?!" cried Jakob.
Danelle screamed. Billie jumped up and ran to Jakob pulling him away.
"Hey man, take it easy!" said Billie while holding Jakob back.
"What the fuck?! Dude, this is our wedding day! Why would you just tell her this now?!" yelled Jakob, furiously.
"I... I don't know. Look, I'm sorry. I just had to tell her how I feel." said Tre while looking down at the ground, suddenly feeling a twinge of regret.
Jakob looked up at Danelle. Her eyes glazy as they filled with tears. Rai and JoAnna got up and walked up to her, each putting an arm around her for support. Danelle, not being able to take anymore of it, ran to the dressing room she had emerged from only an hour previously. Rai and JoAnna exchanged glances, then ran after her. Leaving the men behind.

"Don't worry, you're going to be fine!" said Rai, for what seemed like the hundredth time.
