American idiot summary, chapter 1
This is the story of three people.There names are long forgotten and now are known simply as Jesus of Suburbia (J.O.S.), St.Jimmy,and Watsername.
Lets start with J.O.S. He was a lost kid caught up in pain and misery of leading a boring life filled with suffer.It seemed like he suffered for everyone.When his mother got drunk or hung over he was left to care for her.when people vandalized school he got blamed, and when his father left he was left to pick up the slack.He got tired of simply leading his life for other people and left.He was going somewhere else where nobody would ask him to sufer for his sins.He left for the city. J.O.S. decided to look for someone sort of like a mentor.
Thats when he met this kid Jimmy.He was plainly stated a laud back angry teen who was strung out on drugs and was looking to rebel anything that came his way.Jimmy and J.O.S. were the best friends you would ever see.Going clubbing and getting shit-faced, telling stories and checing out girls.One in particular that Jimmy and jesus could agree was a rebel,and extarodinary.Her name was Watsername,Well that wasnther birth name but that was what she was known as.
One day jimmy got enough courage to introduce himself and Jesus.She was impressed with Jimmy's knowledge and Jesus's past.For a while they were friends, all three of them,Hating life ,but enjoying each other.Jimmy ranting on about his hate of bush,J.O.S. ranting on about being depressed, and Watsername listening carefully to both.Jimmy and Jesus loved Watsername.Watsername loved Them both.So one day they confronted each other.
Watsername gave them both the month of September to prove thier love.Jimmy showed her the great sights of the city nand his true feelings,Wich for Jimmy was a big deal.J.O.S showed Watsername his life, Wich included his scars and pain.By the end Watsername still loved them both but couldn't decide who she could live her life with.
She decided that Jesus was the one she loved.This of course ruined their friendship entirel with Jimmy and left him spiraling into depression.Jimmy left to a place were he could preachto people.He went back to his origanal home in the bario.When he arrived no one remembered who he was.He paniced at the thought of being alone and returned to the city by the bay,only to commit suicide.This is the part were he is considered a saint for dying withought living.
When news retuned back to Jesus, He didn't care.As sad as it seems Watsername changed her mind after the week Jimmy left.And in all this Jesus straightened out ito a boring rut of an office life not remebering anything of his past and forgetting Watsername entirely.
But one day he stumbled upon a picture, and a diary.A picture of St.Jimmy,himself an Watsername on the beach.Loving each other and hating life.The diary was the story of his life and he reslized how much he loved Watsername.
