A Ticket From Heaven, chapter 1

"Tré is way better!"
"Oh my god he is not! Billie's fit!"
"Yeah but Tré is soo sexy!"

These are the kinds of things that are said between my best friend and me when we start talking about Green Day until Rachel called me one night.

"OH MY GOD you will NEVER guess what I've got!"

I thought about it but I had no idea what could be so exciting that she had to call me at 10:00pm.

"Go on then," I sighed, "what have you got?"

"Oh its nothing important... "

NOTHING IMPORTANT?! How can it not be important if she had called me at this time of night excited out of her mind?!

"Rachel, what. Is. It?" I said slowly so she knew I was getting impatient,

"Ok, Ok I'll tell you! It is...

TWO BACSTAGE PASSES AND TICKETS TO SEE GREEN DAY AT THEIR NEXT SHOW!!"

Whoa!

How the hell did she get those? I'd been trying to get tickets for their next show and here she was telling me she hadn't just got tickets but has had backstage passes as well!

"Holy Shit!! How did you get them?!"

"Well you know my cousin Craig? Yeah well he was working with them - he builds all the stages where they hold the shows and he was telling them about me and you with our obsession about them and Billie gave him the passes and the tickets!"

"WOW... " I breathed. This was so awesome! "When is it?"

"Next week so you'd better get your stuff ready so that you don't leave it 'til last minute like you always do!"

I giggled, Rachel knew me too well.
