This Is How We Like To Do It In The Murder Scene!, chapter 4

There they go, snuggling up together again. If only she knew what he really does when she isn't here... "Sit up properly boy," he barked in my direction. I followed instructions to keep things peachy for the moment, but glaring at him as I did so, to show him I wasn't that simple. Oh how I'd relish just killing him in his sleep. But I was concious of how impossible that would be. He's so alert, now that he knows that it was my friends and I who were responsible for the murder of Jason, even though three middle-aged men had been charged for the offence and everybody else was none the wiser. I can't go on living like this, I thought to myself. If only there was a way...*

I advised Gerard to sit down, in preparation for the fatal shock he was yet to receive. "Gerard, well... Have you noticed anything, uh, different lately...?" I hinted.

"Different? Uh no..." He looked confused.

"Like about...my appearance for instance?" I edged further. He eyed me up and down, with confusion in his dark eyes.

"New...clothes?" he tried. I sighed. I could never get it through to him using this method.

"Look Gerard." I grabbed his hands tightly and looked him straight in his eyes. "I- WE, we're having...a...a-a...baby," I stuttered hesitantly, unsure of what his reaction would be.

"Wow... We're gonna be...parents?" Gerard blinked, it was obvious from his expression that he was finding this hard to consume.

"I'm sorry Gerard," I gasped.

"Why are you sorry?" he frowned.

"'Cause we're too young for this... I mean, we're only sixteen. Do you hate me?" I mumbled.

"Why would I hate you? It's not like it was intentional or anything, it's not your fault. C'mere." I felt him pull me close against him. I hugged him back tightly. "Don't worry, we'll get through this, you and me," he assured me. I suddenly felt all of my burdens that had been weighing me down for the past couple of months disappear at that very moment. Finally, everything was going to be okay.*

:Yas:

"There's someone at the door, Yas," I heard my mom call. I quickly wiped my tears and examined my face in the mirror. I was deathly pale, my eyes red rimmed from crying and my kohl eyeliner had made long black tracks along my gaunt cheeks. I wiped my face with my sleeve unpremeditatedly and ran downstairs. It was Mikey.

"Hey Yas. Man, you look terrible..." Mikey said.

"Gee thanks," I muttered.

"No I didn't mean it like that!" he said anxiously.

"I know," I sighed, feeling broken down. "I'm sorry."

"No it's okay babe, I just came here to tell you...the news!" he sounded excited.

"What?" I looked puzzled.

"I'm gonna be an uncle!"*
